“The feeling that something is missing never, ever leaves you—and it can’t, and it shouldn’t, because something is missing. That isn’t of its nature negative. The missing part, the missing past, can be an opening, not a void. It can be an entry as well as an exit. It is the fossil record, the imprint of another life, and although you can never have that life, your fingers trace the space where it might have been, and your fingers learn a kind of Braille.” — Jeanette Winterson

We are gods and may have a flaw or two, but mankind is marked by their many. Shut the doors to the pantheons! And should they forget us: are you to say a god relies on the mortal imagination, their memory? Have some pride.

Lesbian moodboard: The Fairytale

Draw closer and belong deeply with me. I quaver an exhale, the far reaching arms of its torrents ever in pursuit. Breathe me in and I will gather you. You, the missing monarch of my heart, the obscured sculpture from my mind’s pedestal, the anchoring touch to my tremulous hand.

“We talk about love, we talk about humanity. We must see the human factor. Our foundation is human, not sex. [audience applause] It is not about us saying to someone else, that I accept you or I tolerate you. You do not have the power to accept or tolerate me. I take that from you. You will respect me. [audience applause] So to each of you: my community dies every day, whether it’s from HIV and AIDS, or from transphobia or homophobia. I ask you, consider this: that is a human being. We’re all human beings. It’s about inclusivity, and I will never ever ask any of you for respect; I will demand it. [audience applause] You will not tell me that you accept me. You will not tell me that you tolerate me. That is not your power. I take that from you. You will respect me for who I am.”
