Drag Race Robbed Hall of Fame
FOR THE 500000TH TIME RAVEN WAS NOT ROBBED
Shea was not robbed.
Shangela was not robbed.
Manila was not robbed.
While each of them would have made amazing and deserving winners, when push came to shove, they lost when it mattered.
Shea lost the lipsync to Sasha fair and square.
Shangela was not chosen by the jury of eliminated contestants to advance to the final, Trixie and Kennedy were.
Manila was in the bottom 2 and had her lipstick pulled by Naomi, the winner of the lipsync.
You have a right to be upset that your favorite went home, but saying they were robbed indicates that something was wrongly taken from them that was theirs, when in reality, it was never theirs to begin with.
The S9 final 4 was incredibly close, any of them could have taken it and been a deserving winner.
The jury was given the responsibility of choosing the final 2 by Ru, meaning their decision is just as valid as if Ru chose the final 2.
Every single queen who goes on all stars is aware of the rules, and most of them end up getting eliminated by a fellow queen. Even if you only screw up once, you could still go home.
Continuing to push this matter years after the season has ended is partly why the fandom is so toxic, fans worship one queen and vilify another in the same breath, and it’s not fair to anyone.
Shea is V. defensive of Sasha. She maintains that Sasha won fair and square. She’s gone on record saying that you’re not a fan of her if you aren’t a fan of Sasha. She threatened to beat someone’s ass for calling Sasha “that bald bitch”. If you think for a second Shea would appreciate you attacking Sasha for ANY reason, think again.
Shangela has never hated on Trixie, she’s too busy being fabulous and getting that coin. But Shangela is also know for being a positive ray of sunshine, what makes you think shes ok with this name calling?
Naomi was in Manila’s new music video, almost definitely filmed after all stars, so there is no apparent hard feelings between them. This was filmed months ago, and any problems have either been talked out like adults or remained unspoken like adults, because sometimes it’s not worth the drama, a lesson some people could stand to learn.
The way fans have been treating Naomi since the episode aired is disgusting. Regardless of what you think about the all star rules, it’s literally a reality competition, it’s importance to the lgbtq+ community notwithstanding. So Manila got sent home. So what? She’s doing just fine, she doesn’t need a crown to make it known she is a queen.
Be mad for a minute, scream at your TV, tweet about how shook you are. And then get the fuck over it. Don’t hold something against a queen because they won over another or they made a decision you don’t like.
Don’t want to listen to me? Listen to all of the rugirls on twitter calling out the toxic behavior. Listen to the ones who have practically quit drag all together because of toxic fan behavior. Listen to the fans who have left the fandom because of how toxic it is. We can’t change the culture of the fandom overnight, but you can be more mindful of how how you interact and share your opinions. If you’re mad at something, make it known it’s the action you’re mad at, not the queen, or if you are mad at the queen, that you’ll get over it and/or not hold it against them.
Don’t be shady, be a lady, support your local queens, your drag race queens, and your dragula monsters, and tune in next week if you have the ability.
