There were things I wanted to tell her. But I knew they would hurt her. So I buried them, and let them hurt me.

**Thunk** Sad, but beautiful!

Oh, my god. This is so sad, but so amazing.

Does anyone know which episode the last gifs are from?

Janeway putting Tom and Harry in real danger so her holographic boyfriend doesn't get lost is the kind of canon event that I completely disregard. Like, what??? She would never do that! I hate whoever made her look like a complete idiot because of Michael.

But she finally had a chance to get some, and she deserved it

Sorry, but I disagree. Did she deserve a man who wasn't real, whose subroutines she had to change? Did she deserve behavior that was completely inconsistent with her personality? Everyone has their own opinion, but I vehemently disagree. This "romance" was a huge mistake, and the only thing it did to her was make her look weak, irresponsible, and needy, everything she wasn't.

Oh, I absolutely agree with you. I hate these episodes because it basically treats a woman like, you’ll feel better if you have sex.

Then when she does, she’s effectively punished for it because the holodeck malfunctions and endangers the ship.

It’s typical catholic sinner guilt crap. And it’s very beneath her.

Especially since, there’s been a man absolutely devoted to her for 7 years, who would give her the world happily, yet she’s written to be desperate for sex. Seriously?! It never bothered her before.

Yeah, truly despise these episodes.

Oh yeah, she's so desperate for sex… She refuses to have sex with a real, hot man, she refuses to have a romance with him… but she falls in love with random holograms and aliens because she's the needy type. The writers are idiots, lol

I have so many gripes about fairhaven and spirit folk. The biggest gripe is how Janeway was written as being ‘desperate for a fuck’. The choice of ‘partner’ as well. Don’t get me wrong Michael is kinda hot, he was hot before Janeway tweaked his character. After she made the tweaks, Michael is basically Chakotay ver2.0.

The worst part is the whole ‘feeling guilty.” Thing and The Doctor has the little chat with her about romantic diversions being ok. 🤢 She’s an adult, she can fuck who she wants.

The episode as a whole hasn’t really aged well. The writers had obviously never met an Irish person. It’s so stereotypical and makes me itch and I’m not Irish.

The only good thing was that it was nice to see the crew having fun and enjoying themselves.

"After she made the tweaks, Michael is basically Chakotay ver2.0." LOL, true!

He did things that Chakotay thought about but didn't do, like climbing trees and screaming her name 🤣

I believe the holodeck was a sex hub 🤣 A lot of people must have had sex with holograms, even Chakotay confessed to having done so. And thinking about it, it's funny because it felt like a confession like "I gave up on moving on, so now I'm having sex with holograms to satisfy my needs… you should do the same, you know, Kathryn… have sex with HOLOGRAMS, not PEOPLE." lol The fact that she had sex with Michael doesn't bother me, but she would never do that and let the crew know. Why couldn't they exploit this vulnerability they insist she has the same way they dealt with Kashik and Jaffen? She didn't go around telling everyone she was having sex, she just did it and was discreet. Now with Michael, she went crazy, even saying he was her boyfriend. B'Elana confronts her saying that Michael can be reprogrammed, but Tom and Harry can't, she just lowers her head and answers as if she was talking to a friend. Ahhhhhhhhhhh I screamed at the time. Hate!

#JCJune Day 13: Best Subtext

“...but tonight is a special occasion.”

“Oh?”

“Our last night in the Delta Quadrant. I'd say that's special enough. “

“...after dessert .”

“We've waited this long.”

“Long enough. We've waited long enough. I know it's a risk, probably our biggest one yet, but I'm willing to take it.”

How in God's name did anyone achieve such perfection? 🫠🥰

A non-exhaustive list of Starship Personnel that probably exist even though we don’t see them:

  • Hair Stylist/Barber
  • Dentist
  • Pharmacist
  • Physical therapist/chiropractor
  • Morale/Recreational Activities officer
  • Chaplain/non denominational religious counselor
  • Librarian (someone who oversees data input into the library computer)

Feel free to add to the list

We almost saw the ship’s librarian in Insurrection. Here’s the deleted scene when she shushed Riker and Troi.

I could see some of those being folded into medical, with the magic of future technology.

I’ve always wondered about hair stylist, though. On Voyager, they apparently have the ability to grow hair instantly.  Janeway had short hair in “Parturition,” but it was long again the next week. Paris and Chakotay re-grew their sideburns instantly, when they returned to Voyager in “False Profits.” Though perhaps that, too, is a medical thing. The Doctor is the one who grew Seven’s hair back when he de-Borged her.

Kes mentions Neelix getting his hair cut in “Cold Fire.” It sounds like the barber is male, but that’s about all we find out. In the U.S. military, it was common for one of the soldiers to be known for cutting hair.  People would pay him to cut their hair (maybe with things like cigarettes, not necessarily cash). Because it was convenient, or because he didn’t cut it as short as the official barbers.

I could see something like that going on on Voyager.  Perhaps people pay for haircuts with replicator rations or holodeck time. I bet the barber is a Maquis.  Someone was cutting their hair on the Val Jean — everyone’s hair looked great — and presumably they didn’t have time to stop off anywhere to get it done.

reblogging for the deleted scene xD

Funny 🤣

I keep thinking about makeup artists haha, I never understood how someone like Seven is always wearing makeup. Could it be her Borg niche that instantly puts her makeup on? Because she didn't even have a bed, let alone makeup lol Janeway also looks like she sleeps with makeup on, and I will never forgive the producers (or whoever) for hiding her freckles when she apparently wasn't wearing makeup. I wonder if there was a makeup machine that worked like a sonic shower, but depositing particles instead of removing them, because I just can't imagine these women spending so much time on makeup. As for dentists, physiotherapists and pharmacists, I believe these roles were all the responsibility of doctors. After all, most diseases were very easily cured. I believe these roles ended up becoming obsolete over time, especially on a spaceship. And as for hairdressers, they certainly wouldn't put a human on a spaceship to do that job… I'm sure there were holograms for that, or some kind of technology that could do hairstyles and haircuts. Dude, we're talking about a future where people take showers without water and things clean themselves, haha.
