sorry. sorry. if I start thinking about the actual Concept of The Way Home for more than 10 seconds it makes me tear up. the thought of getting to spend time with your family when they were your age or relatives that passed away before you ever came into this world is so heartbreakingly beautiful. imagine getting to spend time with your grandfather in his prime and getting to see him as a teenager. imagine watching your grandparents fall in love in real time. imagine knowing your mom before she ever became your mom. how magical that would be. how it would ease the ceaseless passage of time just slightly. the concept of the pond itself will always make me cry because it shows how important people are and how we are nothing without those who came before us.
I've said it once and I'll say it again but everyone needs to go watch the way home because no other network show is doing tv like this right now. A complex time travel mystery that unfolds over SEASONS!
I am so obsessed. I never would have expected it from Hallmark Channel of all places but they are honestly doing generational trauma as good as Steven Universe and closed-loop time travel mysteries BETTER than Doctor Who.
