unfortunately, this fall I ended up facing very heavy medical expenses for more than 1k euros which will spike soon because now teeth issues added to the whole thing. hey anon sorry for the late answer but I've had... four dental surgeries in two weeks and a half and I'm absolutely out of any capability of answering things on time

anyway on to the matter at hand....... I mean I'm hardly the person with a nuanced view on this specific topic because people will believe what they believe and sometimes you don't get it if you don't know them, personally I couldn't hang out with someone who defend proselytism of any kind because it's one of the three things that will make me drop people in 0.5 seconds but I wouldn't be surprised at the younger part - if someone's family is super religious the younger they are the least likely it is they have questioned a belief system they were raised in. I'd be more surprised they were writing fanfic (I mean I supposed it was het fic unless the person's religion is cool with people being lgbt?) but you never know - like my friend I once read a stevebucky fic that was SO GOOD I had to look up the author's socials and... I read immediately a take that was smth like steve rogers is the kind of white guy people create to feel better about themselves or smth and it was the last time I looked up socials for fic writers I didn't know personally because I couldn't believe someone who wrote that good a fic was absolutely completely OFF when it came to understanding shit about steve as a character so at this rate I'll expect anything X°D

I mean YES I absolutely get it and AT LEAST THAT but sadly proselytism is a thing that's widely accepted when it comes to religions in general so what are we gonna do except hoping people mellow out with age and talk to others and realize that's not exactly cool :/

anyway sorry if this answer is all over the place but I 100% understand your point and I'd have reacted the same, but also... younger people these days aren't automatically skewing progressive also which is a thing I absolutely am worried about so honestly that's what surprises me least T_T

I mean at some point he will have to but tbf I don't think he'd be particularly shocked or anything? r and l were off for months and it would make sense, he doesn't gaf where people come from anyway in general and he respects them based on skills and jon has skills so if it was in the books post wow or during wow he'd be chill and he'd prob bend the knee if he and brienne came with sansa anyway and he was in charge, if he has pre-canon... well I wrote a wholeass 30k fanfic on the topic xD

I mean I agree he wouldn't have done that but not because of rhaegar, because if cers convinced him to give up his inheritance to join the kg and basically stay celibate forever and so on on account that they'd be together but then they WOULDN'T be (because no one convinces me that if cers married rhaegar she'd have ever risked being with jaime) he'd have woken up a lot earlier re how much cers actually cared about him (answer: zero) X°D
