I adore this suit but man is it hard to draw 😭 i had to remove some of the details to make it easier on myself. Also i hate how little screen time he has in his own game like omg, i feel like i saw the riddler more than my man 😞

🗡️🏛️-RED HOOD AND THE ARGONAUTS- 🏛️🗡️

okay so someone on twitter (Miel, my fave red hood fan account 🥰) said that if jason had a team they should’ve been called “the argonauts” (after Jason and the Argonauts from greek mythology) instead of “the outlaws” and as someone who adores greek mythology i agree 100%.

which brings me to THIS piece!! inspired by the scene in the 1963 movie “Jason and the Argonauts” where jason and his crew fight warrior skeletons. it really got me thinking about jason going on silly quests and using the all-blades to fight supernatural (or mythological 👀) forces.

i really enjoyed drawing this so hope you guys like it too!! :)

So.. I’ve been getting into Greek mythology recently, blame it on EPIC: the musical 😣

I decided to draw Ares, the God of War as he’s by far my favourite of the Gods. It’s a shame he doesn’t have that many stories he features in but he’s still pretty cool to research about, especially his relationship with Aphrodite !! The Goddess of Love and the God of War being together is incredibly poetic. They have so many children as well 😭💀

When researching the types of soldiers in ancient Greece i was really upset to see SO much AI “art” on google, it genuinely makes it hard to research what the armour and the Gods looked like in ancient times because now i just get AI slop thats nothing like the actual descriptions :(

Anyway please excuse my complaints and enjoy the art 💞

UTRH era red hood come back home 💔

my red hood hot take is that he should still be an occupational villain/anti-hero that leans more toward the villainous side 🫢

One of his lines in the UTRH comic is “Death will come to those who deserve death, and death may come to those who stand in my way of doing what’s right.” And i love it so much because he isn’t just some guy who kills ‘bad’ guys and spares the good, he literally will kill anyone (including good people!!) if it means he can accomplish his goals. It makes him 1000x more interesting as a character than whatever DC has going on with him rn.

I also love the bit where Jay asks Bruce what he did wrong and Bruce responds “murder” and Jason gets quite upset with it and says he’s killed but never murdered… LIKE??? thats such a cool concept to explore !! that he doesn’t see himself killing ‘bad’ people as “murder” because it simply isn’t a crime to him or perhaps he doesn’t even see them as human beings…

Anyway i got a bit carried away there 💀
