not too much! it’s kind of a yes and no but also a yes, but sort of situation.

different positions r less taxing for me!! im like… on top once a year lol. missionary is easy, so is prone.

i have regular flare ups but since getting medicated they last for shorter times but still are pretty frequent. so i tend to plan around them! there was a time where i was unable to even sit up straight or hold my phone but thankfully we are past that. rn my process is a bit of a calculation.

- do i have anything to do in the immediate future

- can i afford to sacrifice the recovery time if i choose to be intimate

- am i capable of handling a flare

thankfully my partner is very adept! we have a specific safeword for if my pain is too bad. it’s our shorthand. he’s very good at dealing with me during a flare and always optimizes our comfort <3

it’s not guaranteed i will flare if i have sex. it is just very very very likely lol. any physical activity tempts it. it’s possible to be disabled and have a flourishing sex life, but communication is PARAMOUNT. and i cannot stress that enough.

happy to answer more specific questions but this is kind of my thinking behind it :) it’s like anything else disabling: you figure out how to make it more accessible and comfortable, and you do trial and error
