hiii! So I've been stanning xdiz for about 2 months now and last night i had my first dream about jiseok lol. Its not super wild but it was definitely something haha.

what's a difference between a one shot and a drabble?
i’m probably not the best person to ask this lol especially as different writers view the two terms differently, and by that i mean - some people define what’s a drabble/one shot by focusing on the word count, and others on the overall structure (i’m one of those). i’ll share how i personally view the formats from what i’ve gathered with time
to me, a one shot reads like a completed short story, it’s usually longer than a drabble - 1k words up. it can have several scenes, time jumps, plot lines and conflicts, multiple characters… etc., but it has an established beginning, middle and end. sometimes, a one shot could be less than 1k words, but the full, complete structure of the story is what makes it a one shot
on the other hand, a drabble is a quick, simple story that focuses on one specific moment and less characters. it doesn’t need much or barely any context - you take one single situation and focus solely on exploring that. personally for me, a drabble is around 500-900 words (which i exceed most of the time oops), but i know for some people drabbles should be strictly 100 words long
hopefully this makes sense and gives you some clarity 😭 as i mentioned, people’s opinions may differ depending on what they focus on - word count or content. i personally classify my stories based on content considering i write smut, and the sexual scenes inevitably double the word count because of the needed descriptions
