How I View the Twisted Wonderland Boys!
I don't hate or dislike anyone, but there are definitely characters I enjoy more than others. Here's how I categorized them:
🟣 I wish they were used in every event. Always wanting to see them more.
🔴 Smiling whenever they have their screentime.
🟡 Pleasant guys. Don't seek them out but enjoy them for the most part.
1. Azul Ashengrotto
Always entertaining and a joy to see. I usually don't like business/workaholic characters, but he's very well rounded and not dull. I like that he's always up to something and is usually smart about planning, but it's also amazing to watch his plans fall apart. Best aesthetic and I love his mer form.
2. Rook Hunt
Rook is weird. But in the best way possible. I like that he's a bit of a mystery, but his overall intentions seem to be pure hearted even if he creeps out the others. He's very passionate about beauty, but instead of being full of himself, he's always complimenting others.
3. Cater Diamond
Not enough to be in the purple tier, but I really like him! At first glance, he's a bit annoying and overly peppy. But there are subtle hints dropped throughout his scenes that show a more distant personality. He puts on a happy mask most of the time, but is actually subdued (and maybe even a bit lonely?)
4. Jade Leech
Polite and courteous, but up to something. His mushroom hobby is fun and quirky. I like that he usually keeps his motives hidden that gives him an air of mystery.
5. Vil Schoenheit
I had expected him to be overwhelmingly arrogant and vain, but I was glad to be wrong. He puts a lot of effort into himself and does a lot for his dorm. He's not without flaws, but he's a lot more put together than the others.
6. Floyd Leech
I love his chaotic energy and moods. Whenever he's involved, I know it's going to be a fun time.
7. Idia Shroud
If Idia was just a shy, otaku nerd, he'd be lower down on this list. However he's also very blunt and gives some of the funniest lines. I love it when he casually roasts the others. There's a good balance between his social anxiety and his more gremlin side.
8. Deuce Spade
Such a wholesome sweet guy. He's a bit dumb, but his heart is generally in the right place. I like when his old delinquent personality switches back in whenever one of his friends is getting messed with.
9. Lilia Vanrouge
A more controlled kind of chaotic. I don't think he'll start any of the chaos, but he'll join in. I also like that he can't cook but seems oblivious that no one else likes his food.
10. Jamil Viper
I feel bad that he puts himself down to make Kalim look better. He's carrying the whole of Scarabia on his back. Poor guy is just mentally exhausted all the time. I want him to get more recognition.
11. Silver
A very polite and gentle guy. He doesn't talk much and may possibly have narcolepsy, but he's very endearing. One of the more levelheaded characters. He reminds me a lot of Link from the Legend of Zelda series.
12. Ruggie Bucchi
Just a hustler trying to get by in life. Usually stays out of everyone's way, unless Leona puts him up to something. Probably the most underrated character.
13. Ace Trappola
Can be a little rude sometimes, but makes up for it by being funny. Thinks he's slick, but everyone around him can see through him. Should know better, but he doesn't.
14. Riddle Rosehearts
Honestly, he's just okay to me. Not the most interesting character among the bunch, but does complement others well in their interactions. Still a little too strict with rules. I love seeing him smile and being happy, especially the chibis, it's adorable.
15. Epel Felmier
I think he is cute, but I like him best when he's in "troublemaker" mode. Cares way too much about appearing manly. Really underrated.
16. Malleus Draconia
Initially, I thought he'd be my favorite, since the community seems to favor him and I also love Maleficent as a Disney villain. Though I found him a bit... underwhelming? His interest in gargoyles is neat and he's fairly chill for someone who's so powerful.
17. Jack Howl
His main thing is just training and getting stronger, which doesn't resonate with me all too much. But he has a lot of nice moments and cares about being honorable which I can respect.
18. Kalim Al-Asim
Sunshine characters aren't really my thing. I don't really like that he is oblivious to the harm some of his actions cause to others. He does contrast well with the rest of the characters, which can lead to some fun interactions.
19. Leona Kingscholar
I don't find him particularly entertaining most of the time and he seems kind of just there. Usually he's pretty rude, but not in a funny way. He's very perceptive and can be smart when he feels like it.
20. Ortho Shroud
Like with Kalim, I'm not really invested in him because of his consistent positivity. He's cute, but without Idia, I feel like he doesn't really have much of an impact on his own.
21. Trey Clover
Has cool unique magic, but doesn't stand out to me very much. He's usually non problematic, which makes him a little bland. He has grown on me, but I prefer scenes with other characters much more.
22. Sebek Zigvolt
The one character I nearly gave the blue/dislike. He's usually ranting about Malleus and that's what most of his character boils down to for me. Although I do admire his dedication even if it gets a little old.
Bonus Characters:
1. Dire Crowley
Either the main villain or a character with a tragic backstory. Both? He's at the top because while we don't know his motives, the mystery behind him is intriguing. I'd like him regardless of how his character is revealed later on. I have my own theories, but I'll keep them to myself for the time being...
2. Grim
Little chaos gremlin. Definitely a cat monster. He can be a bit annoying sometimes, but I feel like it's part of his charm. Plus I feel like he genuinely doesn't know better at times, he's still young and learning.
3. Sam
He's like Azul, but easier to trust. There's a lot of mystery about him, but it doesn't feel unsettling. Very chill and would be fun to hang out with and talk to.
4. Che'nya
Even though he doesn't appear much, he has a way of stealing the scenes he's in, a very memorable character. I never liked the Cheshire Cat in the 1951 animated version, but Che'nya is alright. Hope we see more of him if there's an RSA focused event.
5. Divus Crewel
I like that he loves dogs in contrast to Cruella, who wants to skin puppies. A little bit strict with his students, but in a good way. His design is amazing.
6. Mozus Trein
He's a little forgettable, if not for his cat and the history lessons. He seems pleasant enough, but I keep forgetting he's there a lot of the time.
7. Ashton Vargas
I love the villain he's based on, since he's so unsettling in an eerily realistic way. But Vargas is just a stereotypical gym bro guy. Nothing wrong with that, but his character could benefit from some more nuance.
8. Neige LeBlanche
Like with a few others from before, I don't care for joyful characters. I do not hate him, but I would be okay if he never appeared again outside of mentions. Unless he gets deeper character development than what we have seen so far.
