I think one of the goals of society should be that someone who requires expensive medicine and a lot of care can live an amazing life, the longest life they possibly can, with dignity, even if they have no friends or family or anyone who cares enough about them to help. the goals of a society should be to make life better than if we are alone, society should want life to be as good as possible for as many people as possible, and those goals should account for people not having social support networks.
social life aside, the most hated or ignored person in town should be able to live as good and fair and just of a life as the most loved person in town. survival needs to stop being a popularity contest.

Today (or, well, technically yesterday) I finally sat down to watch Sonic 3 with my absolutely amazing partner, who is obsessed with the movies, and specifically Stobotnik
I must admit, their dynamic was growing on me (mainly after the second movie) but Robotnik's video to Stone before his death (or 'death'?) had me going wild-
Because as my account (and AO3) makes it clear.. kinda a big Berlermo fan - kinda obsessed with a pairing where one is absolutely head over heels devoted to this other person, who seems to not be in love back but is. The peacock and the guard dog. A super competent genius, and the dreamer (who's also a genius in their own right). A couple with a no-homo love confession scene. A couple where one sacrifices their life to save others and leaves behind the one person who loved them the most. The villain power couple.
I turned to my partner and told them that Stobotnik is family-friendly Berlermo
They disagreed at first but later in the day went "omg they are just the same"
