We have a few New Year's Eve traditions in Brazil: we wear white clothes but the color of your underwear signifies what you'll get for the new year. White- peace, yellow-money, red-love, green-health, etc. Last year I spent the holidays in Brazil with family and friends, but it didn't go as planned... hope whichever color you pick works out for next year!
