Welcome To The Skeletwins AU Ask Box!

Snowdin Adventures With The Skeletwins is a fanfiction AU-ish thing revolving around my two favourite comfort characters, Sans and Papyrus! Why is it an AU? Well, the only significant difference (as of right now) is that they're twins! As of right now, there's just the one main story, but there's also a few side stories you can check out here!

I've been inspired by other ask blogs to create my own based on this series! So here, you can ask the twins pretty much anything! Well... almost anything...

  1. No explicit NSFW, please. Both brothers, as well as myself, are part of the asexual spectrum, but they're more on the sex-repulsed side of things. Dirty jokes that can go over kids' heads, however, are okay! But no advances, please! Let's keep this place lighthearted, yeah?
  2. You are allowed to submit your own art of the brothers or Undertale in general, and the brothers will react to it! But like the rule above, please no NSFW art. That would be very much appreciated.
  3. Submit as many questions as you'd like, but please be patient! I am quite fast, but I do have a job now, so the brothers might not always be able to answer your questions quickly.
  4. I don't do ships unless it's a canon ship like Alphyne. But if you want to mention them, that's okay! Just try to steer clear of the more... problematic ones. You know which ships they are. If anything regarding those ships are submitted, neither me nor the brothers will answer it. Sorry!
  5. To any minors that might come across here, don't worry, I will try to make this blog as safe as possible for you! But if anything involving stuff like references to alcohol or stuff like bad mental health or even the kill kill murder route in Undertale comes up, then those questions will be answered. Just a little warning there for you, that's all.
  6. Any answers involving h i m will be deliberately left vague, as well as questions about Sans' project. Sorry if you don't like that, but I don't want to spoil anything too soon.

Anyway, now that's done, here are the list of characters you can ask!

  • Any Snowdin Resident (yes, including Jerry)

Characters you can't ask right now:

  • Flowey (he doesn't exist yet)
  • Toriel (Sans hasn't found the door yet)
  • Frisk (waaaaay too early for them)
  • Chara and Asriel (...)

So, in case you didn't know, Ali Anne isn't my real name. Ali-Anne is actually an OC of mine I made back when I was a teenager, and I'm still hoping to put her in an original animated show one day. But since I also use her as an avatar on Tumblr (see my profile pic), I'm thinking of splitting my OC from my avatar and redesign my avatar so it's more me and not my OC.

I'll get back in a couple of days with a new redesign and banner (maybe) for this blog. See you then!

Hey there Ali Anne! (huge fan) Since you gave me a little tutorial on how to make the glitchy sfx on text boxes, I'm going to make a little tutorial on how to make overworld sprites too!

Sans will make a fine example! First of all, try not to lose what makes a character recognizable! For Sans' case, that's his big wide smile and his jacket. If you wanted to make a Skeletwins Sans overworld sprite, here's a few tips! - Use references! Looking at Toby's overworld sprites can help with your style you want to use with overworld sprites. - Try to stay around the same size as the original, or, if they're widely different in size or have more details, it's fine if you simplify a bit! For example, here's my try on a Skeletwins Sans' overworld sprite, which is a bit rushed and scuffed:

I made his star and hoodie, and tried keeping it simple overall! Once again, I cannot stress enough how much core design details are needed. For example, if I took Papyrus' overworld sprite, and removed his boots, it'd be totally different! And oversimplifying is also a negative thing. All in all, here's the do's and dont's for my overworld sprite process! Do's: Try keeping it simple, and not too detailed. Use references. Try using your own art style too! Small details are fine, but don't make it so many that it looks like just a mess of pixels! Dont's: Oversimplifying. If you remove all core details too, it'll just be a blob. Do NOT stop yourself from taking slight artistic liberties! If you think it'll look good, try experimenting with it. Don't restrain overworld sprites to just a few characters! Make sure you pick a wide diversity. Make sure not to make it too big, or it'll look out of place. Well, that's about it! BUH-BAI!! (@justali-anne)
