This account was created almost 4 years ago with the sole purpose of supporting and appreciating the character of Sam Wilson, especially given the racist reactions and rhetoric towards him becoming the new Captain America.

For years, we were active, digging through decade old posts to find ones about Sam and share with all of you and with this fandom.

Since TFATWS came out, we had been eagerly anticipating the next mcu project featuring Sam Wilson as Captain America.

We've been saddened and enraged at every update regarding this new film. It made us no longer as active or as passionate about running this blog, despite how excited we were before.

We will not be supporting this movie, nor will we be supporting any future Marvel or Disney project.

Many will label all of us who make this decision as "racists". Let them. Supporting Palestinians and doing what we can to limit the propaganda being used against them is more important.

We ask that you please support the Palestinian call to boycott Marvel. Don't pay to watch these shows and movies. Don't publicly bring attention to them if you choose to pirate.

Please be allies to the cause.

We refuse to put entertainment above our morals and we are only disappointed in ourselves for not having researched into Marvel and Disney sooner.

Since it’s coming up soon, reminder that Captain America: Brave New World will star former IDF solider Shira Haas.

She will be playing Ruth Bat aka the Israeli superhero Sabra. Whose first comic book appearance (Incredible Hulk #256) had her struggle to comprehend why the death of a Palestinian child should be sad.

Because she didn’t see him as human.

Tells ya everything you need to know don’t it?

Marvel have stated that she will be a high ranking US government official and former Black Widow. But those differences do not change that the core of the character.

Nor who is playing her.

The Palestinian lead moment BDS (Boycott Divestment Sanction) has called for the film to be boycott.

Stating that “the characters anti-Palestinian racist history and representation apartheid Israel cannot be sanitised.”

If you support Palestine please don’t support this movie.

in light of the trailer for the new captain america movie dropping, a reminder that bds has asked people to boycott this film specifically due to marvel's refusal to remove the character of sabra.

The actress for Sabra was medically exempt from military conscription, but volunteered anyway.

Now that's dedicated white supremacy!

Obligatory mention that they're literally using this movie as a recruitment tool for new mossad agents from younger generations. The reason PACBI (Palestinian academic and culture boycott) is around is to make people realize that normalization (yes, that's a real political concept, zionists stop making fun of the way palestinians talk) extends to the arts and is used to encourage people to take part in the occupation, disenfranchisement, and outright slaughter of Palestinians with no cultural pushback.

And while for years, we have been anticipating the next time we'll get to see Anthony Mackie on screen, playing our favourite character, and proving to everyone how he IS Captain America, this is a reminder that Captain America: Brave New World has been directly called out by the BDS movement (a nearly 20 year old movement created by Palestinians), and we have been asked to boycott it in its entirety.

A zionist settler has been cast. Disney itself has donated $2 million to Israeli relief groups.

it is incredibly saddening that we won't be able to watch one of our favourite's character's long awaited film, but our interest and love for this character, and for superheroes/comics/movies as a whole, are no where near more important then standing up alongside Palestinians, and doing all we can to help them and to listen to their requests.

Join me in boycotting the film. Pirate it if you must.

Reminder.

Boycott this movie.

Boycott Marvel.

Reminder!

Boycott this movie.

And boycott all of Marvel

Obviously there are many things I will never forgive the white liberal users of tumblr for, but one of the worst things they ever did was normalise “compassion fatigue” in regards to advocating for Gaza. It has allowed people to grow comfortable in their willingness to turn away from genocide, when one of the most important things you can do is bear witness.

The consistent dehumanization language used in describing Palestinians in western media is unfathomable. The consistent denial of seeing our children as children. For everybody seeing this, don't fall into this, seek out the truth and educate yourself because that's the best and only way we can help people in Palestine. We have to amplify their voices.

You really shouldn't be in the comics fandom if you can't handle Jews in comics.

If you're so upset about a Jewish superhero, you shouldn't be consuming a type of media invented and perfected by Jews. The characters in the movie were created by Jews. If you don't like that, you never belonged in the fandom.

BDS is a load of bullshit. They'll boycott anyone who advocates for peace because it's "normalization." They're against AOC because she called out horrific antisemitism that resulted in a pogrom, even though she's been supporting Palestine since day one. BDS are an extremist group, and you're a fool for listening.

Also to expand on the above, bds is a foreign movement that refuses to work with actual on the ground Palestinian movements. The only actual effect they've ever had on ANYTHING is causing the closing of a sodastream factory that then led to thousands of Palestinians losing their jobs, nothing else. And again - refusing to work with an org like standing together because they're supposedly advocating for "normalization" is fucking horrific because it clearly shows they're not looking for a peaceful solution, they're looking to push out the eight million Jews that live in Israel, which if it that somehow does happen (extremely unlikely) will lead to an actual genocide and would be another fucking ethnic cleansing of Jews from our own homeland.

Supporting Disney throughout their other abuses and constant military propaganda but only boycotting them when an extremist ineffective movement calls to boycott is fucking hypocritical is shit, especially when you're posting using a phone or computer that was manufactured in Israel.

Peace without liberation is no peace.

Palestinians will be liberated from the river to the sea, and any organization or group that is not looking to rename the entirety of the region to "Palestine", nor looking towards giving back Palestinian land and removing the illegal settlements (that have only increased per year, even on the land recognized as the "Palestinian Territories") is an organization that you SHOULDN'T associate with.

It is NOT your homeland. It is the Palestinians' home, who have been occupied, oppressed, and ethnically cleansed for the last 75 years.

Also Sabra from marvel is literally a mossad agent?????? How is that not the definition of facist????

Literally used as a recruitment tactic???

People don't realize there are real world consequences to marvel/DC films and comics in the modern day, and I'm saying this as someone who was a pretty big DC fan and still enjoys their animations from time to time. It's that this specific type of media is used to recruit people into militaries, with pretty solid ties with the military... not to mention the tech used in movies that's often lauded as superior can be used by the military themselves. In undergrad, my 3d modeling prof and advisor/dept chair bragged to a group of students about how they established a military contract to develop tech. These were a bunch of nerds who liked movies and games and stuff, not like... highschoolers who were "poor and didn't know better", they entered this field of study to work in games and movies and some of my classmates ended up working for defense contractors. There's a direct tie to superhero culture and the military that's not subtle at all and to reduce it to "Well superheros/comics can't be fascist because xyz came up with it" like be for real. There are comic nerds who make the material for the military because of their reverence for the media that depicts random guys as defenders of justice.
