I gave Madison a makeover! Here's the after and before. Honestly, I ADORE the Joss doll as she is, but I wanted my mini me to have a distinct identity and look, and I'm in love with the results!
Introducing: Addy and Rebecca, dolls # 17 and # 18 in my collection!
They both are just absolutely gorgeous, absolute icons in the AG historical lineup, and are so nostalgic to me, and I'm thrilled to have them in my collection finally!
I'm excited to reread their books and take lots more photos of them real soon βΊοΈπ
Meet Katie from the year 1978!
For my mom's birthday, I decided to make her a custom doll meant to represent her when she was an AG character's age, 10 years old, and I had a blast creating a collection of outfits and accessories based on her favorite things at that age, all of which fit with her inside her Kirsten-inspired trunk to keep track of all the little pieces.
Not to mention her beloved dog, Sugar (how fun is it that the white sweater literally has "Sugar" embroidered on it - thanks, AG!)
She was totally surprised when I presented it to her, and is thrilled with it all just as I hoped she'd be! π₯Ή
π₯³ It's my beloved late Grandma's birthday today, so I wanted to post...
1. Julie grooving it up in the dollhouse my grandma built and designed (all by herself, what a badass she was!) in 1971 for my mom.
2. a full look at the house feat. Corinne and one of my cats.
3. one of my favorite photos of Molly I've taken, with Molly being my tribute doll to my grandma.
Here's to having dolls as ways to connect with your loved ones in the present, and remember them after they've passed. π
Addy & Josefina got to visit Las Vegas together this past weekend - here's a peek at some of the highlights! From meeting Hello Kitty at her cafe and seeing "Paris" to going 550 ft up in the air in the ferris wheel and viewing RuPaul's Drag Race Live & Cirque du Soleil, it was an unforgettable adventure!

P.S. For those looking for mini doll clothes: Josefina's dress is from GumbieCatDollClothes on Etsy and Addy's overalls are from the early 2000s Madeline doll line by Eden!
Iβm back bitch. Hello, I am Jocelyn. I collect the historical American girls. I need more friends to talk about dolls with!!!
I've always wanted American Girl to add another Indigenous doll to their lineup, whether present day or highlighting another historical period. We have the thoroughly researched and consulted Kaya from the Nez Perce tribe who I love dearly, but it would be really cool to have another character join her in the lineup representing another Tribe with its own history and culture.
While that unfortunately still hasn't happened, I was thrilled when I learned about Maplelea's Saila Qilavvaq doll! She lives in Iqaluit, Nunavut, speaks English and Inuktitut, and shares her Inuit heritage through her journal, which takes place in present day.Β
And now, I'm proud to say that she is officially joining my doll collection!Β Welcome, Saila!
We love to see beautiful Indigenous dolls, that's for sure. I can't wait to take more pics of her and learn more about Inuit culture. β€οΈ
I've got a series of Valentine's Day party photos coming, but I loved Malia's outfit so much I had to take her outside for a bonus solo photo. The roller skates are soooo her!
Unfortunately she did wipe out during the shoot - unsurprisingly because she was on ROLLER SKATES of all things - fortunately, her hat partially protected her from the impact but she did get a slight shine mark on her nose. *Cue me letting out a small scream in the vacant park* π Magic erasers here we come!
This boombox was a McDonald's toy I got in 2000 and when you press the button, it still makes sounds somehow all these years later, and here we have Arthur loving it!
A year or so later I got a bigger version of it that was a full sized Barbie house shaped like a boom box, and it had a working radio in it! It'd be a cool display piece to find again but it's so big for my space right now, this mini version will suffice. ππ
