Art summary for 2024 - at least drawing-wise, it's been a pretty good year

A question!! Maybe a chain?
When did you get into LoZ, and how?
For me, I played BotW years ago and really enjoyed it but couldn’t get really into any of the other games. About a year and a half ago (I think?) I happened upon Linked Universe. I didn’t know who half the cast was but I was SMITTEN. After that I started ALBW and it was all over for me.

Uuuh… ages ago, when the earth was young and Dinosaurs were still the dominant species… ( read: when I was a kid ^^) I played ALTTP with my brother and my mom.
Had on and off phases of Zelda affection ( aka “growing up “) until I got myself a Switch and BotW and realized why I love Zelda.
Discovered LU some years ago. Joined tumblr last year because I enjoyed reading fanfic. The rest is history ^^
Thank you for the tag!
I've been into the LoZ for as long as I can remember! My family were fans of it way before I was born lol. So I've grown up with it, and am still just as, if not even more, obsessed with it :)

when I was little I didn’t get to play any console games, but my parents bought me and my brother a switch when I was 11. My first loz game was the links awakening remake, and from there the rest of the switch games. Since then I’ve played a good number of the other ones (emulators…borrowing friend’s consoles…I’m pulling all sorts of shenanigans 😭) and I really really love this series! I haven’t beaten all the games or read all the manga yet, but I’m working on it >:) Aiming to beat the rest of the games before I graduate high school :D (So far: 11 games beaten)

I didn't get tagged but I still thought this would be fun!
I discovered LOZ in middle school when my English teacher randomly had the 2nd Twilight Princess manga in her collection and the only reason I read it was because I thought TP Link was super hot and I wanted to drool over the panels, but then I got HOOKED. It's been like 6 years and I'm terrible at video games, so I've only played BOTW (the Hinox battle music makes me want to scream), but, predictably, I want to try Twilight Princess at least once <3

Zelda games have always been a part of my life! Some of my earliest memories are watching my oldest sister play OoT on the N64. Growing up I sucked (still kinda do) at actually playing video games but I've been working my way through all of them recently and have now finished most of them!
Fun fact: I didn't actually know his name was Link until highschool! My sister came up with some weird name for her OoT playthrough and I kid you not I just assumed that was his cannon name.

Ohh thanks for the tags!
I actually can’t remember pretty well how it happened since I was really young but I could swear that all began with a fun video about the zelda timeline. I was amazed and actually my love for LoZ started without playing ANY of the games because I only owned a Xbox, so I spent too many hours watching videos and reading stuff only about the lore lol.
My first zelda game was The minish cap because at that age I only knew how to emulate GBA games (thanks pokemon) in my cellphone and many years later I finallyyy got a Nintendo switch as a birthday gift with botw and now I have played almost all of the games and my childhood dream it’s fulfilled.

Well, I started liking Zelda in 2020 when I saw an edit of Link wearing the Gerudo outfit, and I thought, "Wow, who is this pretty girl, and what game is she from?" When I found out it was Link, I was surprised—I had always pictured him as the strongest green hero🤣. A few weeks later, I started playing Ocarina of Time and fell in love with the franchise.
Wasn’t tagged but still thought it would be fun to participate!
My uncle first introduced me to video games and Zelda when I was maybe around 5 or 6, after showing me Super Mario World and Mario 64. The first Zelda game he showed me was A Link to the Past, and i will tell you that was an adventure and experience I will never forget! I loved Link’s pink hair because pink was my favorite color, and still is lol! I also loved when he turned into a pink bunny, I thought it was so silly and cute!!!
Then my uncle showed me OoT on 64, which I also loved so much! I couldn’t do the puzzles and fight the bad guys since I was still little, but I would love to control ridding Epona, either it be when we had to get to one place to the other, or it just be for fun! Those two game changes my life and I hold them dear to me in my heart.
My uncle would also walk me through the dungeons and puzzles, asking me questions to help me try and solve them myself, (he knew all the tricks because he played them a lot and I would make him re starts the game all over again right after he beat it lol) and he would ask like, “ok so we are in this room, and the map says there is a chest here, but we don’t see it right? What do you think we should do first?” Or like, “there is this and this in the room, and the riddle says this, what do you think it’s suggesting to? You this it’s left?” I don’t remember exactly how he explained it to me lol but he was really helpful and after a few years I wanted to try beating Zelda games by myself, and even today while playing games myself I still need his advice and help lol
Then I found out about Linked universe maybe about 4 years ago on Pinterest, then watched the dubs by Estrine Studios and loved watching them, (which what they have said will still continue but will be re-doing the dubs) and last year got Tumblr and found a lot more LU and amazing Zelda art!
No pressure to these tags who may want to participate! @spicymochi @kikker-oma @kristanlayne @snowzy66 @snailtaco @bluury2 @toshi-tori @ezravon3
Thank you for the tag and it's really nice seeing how a lot of others came to be fans of the series!💕💕
I've been a zelda fan for as long as I can remember. My first game is actually still my favorite, which was the amazing Majora's Mask. The version I would play the most was the GameCube zelda collection. (That collection remains as a strong and positive memory in my mind, so i bring it up whenever I can) I always loved the logos, the characters, and the music of all the games on the collection at the time, but I'd constantly go back to Majora's Mask the most. There was something about those models and aesthetics that just captivated me. I truly love all the zelda games, even those with their obvious faults, lolol.
Tagging for fun (no need to respond to this✨️):
Hehehhe thank you for the tag!!
I'm afraid my answer isn't nearly as interesting as most, sadly. I have terrible memory retention problems so I can't remember when or what exactly got me into the games. What I do know is that I was a young preteen who really loved the fantastic world and medieval aesthetic of the games, experiencing it mostly through YouTube since I've never had many consoles in my life. If I had to guess, it was either Ocarina of Time or A Link Between Worlds. I remember drawing Link a couple times back then, too, though it was mostly a passing interest I had.
The first one I actually played from start to finish was Minish Cap, and the others took a while, but followed too, and were just as gorgeous and fun. I only truly fell in love with the series after getting the chance to play BotW for myself, absolutely spoiled to hell and back since this was 5-6 years after release or so, but it was still so fun and amazing to see the world unfold for myself. I love the art direction, the music, the world, the characters, the flaws, the messages, everything in them. I can't wait to see where the next games go~
I'm not very good with tagging, so anyone who wants to join can feel free <3
I got into TLOZ all thanks to my cat!
It all started in May 2023. I had just graduated high school two days earlier and decided that I was going to go to bed after watching just “one” more YouTube video. No sooner had I thought that, my cat Elsa jumped on me. “Well… Guess I gotta stay on the couch! I don’t make the rules!”
I ended up coming access a video about an hour later called “Why is Link so hot?” Idk what I was thinking, it was almost midnight, the most Nintendo exposure I had was Mario and Wii Sports, but I clicked the video. Then I found another TLOZ video, and then ANOTHER!
By the time I went to bed, I had watched half of the BOTW cutscene movie on YouTube. Within the next two days, I had watched all of the Era of the Wild cutscenes, found a YouTuber to watch play OOT, and I even went as crazy to buy a Switch light!
It wasn’t until a few weeks later I found LU. Then the rest was history…
Here’s a picture from that fateful night of my cat sleeping on me:
Let’s keep this train going! (I hope you don’t mind being tagged!)
Well, it depends on how you mean "got into"
My first exposure was from a kid from our church who we played with sometimes, and who always wanted to be some guy named "Link" we when played make believe.
My first actual exposure to anything LOZ was actually because I stole one of my brother's Boys Life magazines he got from boy scouts, and I remember there being an article about Skyward Sword. I don't remember much except for the fact that Link rode a bird, and thus my sisters used to tease me about my OCs being "like Link" since I had a character I wrote about who did, in fact, ride around on a bird. (Poor eleven year old me had no clue one day she'd stop insisting that she didn't write/draw Link because actually that's all I do now)
But what actually got me into LOZ was doing concept art!
In grade school I started a "club" with my younger siblings where we all drew comics about OCs we created for HTTYD, and I had a full cast of characters that I periodically redesigned when the whim took me (much like I periodically change art styles these days)
Anyways, I was working to find inspiration for some designs when I stumbled across some art of Link on Pinterest. I did not know it was Link, but one thing led to another and I ran across those early sketches of the LU boys (this was probably either 2017 or 2018).
Due to previous teasing regarding Link, and my then fervent desire to not be associated with him, I quickly turned back once I realized what I was looking at, because I refused to be tempted into liking something i'd been teased about for years at that point. But, our lovely chaos gremlin's design proved to be too tempting and I started looking at Zelda art in my free time, hunting down the scattered pages of LU's first comics across Pinterest, before finally giving up and accepting I was interested.
Cue me hunting down anything I could find of LOZ content to fill in my knowledge in secret (strict parents), learning the lore and watching cutscenes, reading comics, tracking down mangas and, of course, turning to tumblr to read LU. And the rest is history!
Now! @silvercaptain24 @telemna-hyelle @skyward-floored @skyloftian-nutcase @onceuponaladye your turns!
Thanks for the tag! (Reblogging this on my Zelda account -- I think I was tagged in this earlier but forgot 😅)
I was kind of exposed to it all around the same time. Breath of the Wild had been released alongside the Switch, so of course that was what everyone was talking about. I grew tired of everyone talking about it, mainly because I was jealous since there was no way in heck I could get a Switch for myself (at least anytime soon), so I was avoiding everything Switch and Breath of the Wild related. I was probably in the camp of Breath of the Wild haters at the time despite knowing nothing about it, all because that was what anyone could talk about
But of course it all changed later that year for Christmas
Now, this was the year when my mom had remarried, so we had to spend the Christmas over at the new family. They were nice enough, but there was obviously a gap in wealth between us and they had all of the new technology -- including the Switch, to which they were playing the newly-released BotW DLC -- specifically the cutscene of Daruk and the dog
Of course I was intrigued, and at that point my hate for Breath of the Wild had died down to where I kind of forgot the game existed, and of course had no clue it had a DLC. Of course this family wasn't going to let me try out the game for myself -- I was hardly a stranger to them after all -- but they had a compromise to where I could try out a Zelda game for myself
And lo and behold, I got to play my first Zelda game: Tri Force Heroes
I freaking loved Tri Force Heroes. It was charming, it was fun, and it was downright hilarious. I don't know if that was exactly when I had gotten into Zelda, because I didn't exactly become obsessed with it at that moment, but it is where it all started.
But I didn't become "into" into Zelda until later, when I was able to play Breath of the Wild when visiting my dad, who had somehow gotten hold of a Switch. And then when I couldn't play on the Switch I begun watching YouTube lore videos, Google fanart (since I couldn't use Pinterest), and then lo and behold I became obsessed.
Idk who has already been tagged or who wants to be tagged, so no pressure tags:

Aw, thanks for the tag ♡ Don't have the most interesting story I guess, but one of my besties in college was a huge Zelda fan and she introduced me to the series uhhh probably around 2018? She let me play OoT on her 3ds, think I only got thru the very first mini temple but yknow 😅 Think like 2019ish I got Twilight Princess to play on our old wii, was collecting lots of Zelda stuff on pinterest and stumbled across LU stuff late 2019, 2020 hit like a truck and I bought a wii u to cope, could play almost all the games between the physical releases (including Breath of the Wild) and the virtual console games. Also joined some LU servers around then and akakdkk had some fun and made some mistakes but met some friends I still talk to and one of best friends I've ever had (like you'll probs see this, love you still can't believe it's been like 5 years now and hope i can visist again soon TvT) so can't say I regret it akdkfk will always be grateful to LoZ for that <333 Very inspiring series in general
Not sure who to tag but anyone who sees this and wants to we can say i tagged you ♡

I'm not dead 😅 Still been sketching, just haven't posted hardly any if it lol but ummmm
Arin and I have been playing around a lot with an alternate plot for Autumn's story, one where instead of magic overwhelming his life he was shut off from it completely and lost more than was bargained for (plus being possessed by the spirit of the hero before him has been fun vibes 👀)
My gosh I thought for sure I'd shared these but I guess I didn't?? So uhhh Autumn and his little girl, McKinley ♡ mirror image of her old man
(Bonus non canon doodle w medieval fantasy 'Kinley meeting Victorian era Antione's girls, Floriane and Pritha)
