A social gathering of dudes who all have serious Main Character Syndrome, but all are wildly different genres. One of them is the "people don't like me because I'm too smart" Misunderstood Genius who isn't actually particularly smart, just mean. Another one thinks he's wisecracking and clever by just talking like a character in a Marvel movie. Third one thinks he's subtly pulling off a mysterious Film Noir vibe by wearing a fedora and spending most of his time internally narrating, and silently staring at people. The fourth one is a deeply dramatic purple prose self-fashioned Byronic Hero who is unaware that he would be a mildly annoying minor antagonist in a Jane Austen novel at best. The fifth one has gotten his entire personality from shounen anime.

his work has changed the lives of many, brought attention to important subjects, and created a community of friends. he will be remembered as an inspiration.

personally, falsettos is newer to me. i became a fan about a year ago and its never failed to amaze me yet. the show is beautiful. hilarious yet devastating. the talent it takes to create comedy with an impactful message for an oppressed community. and not only does falsettos continue to bring awareness to the aids crisis and stipulation towards it, the show brings self discovery to the audience. personality, sexuality, right and wrong doings, friendships, relationships, family, therapy, loss, grief. it has it all.

Dennis would be Marvin (evil repressed gay, everyone hates him, anger issues, somehow gayer than the stereotypical gay one, beautiful hair)

Mac would be Whizzer (overly stereotypical gay, existing only to please others, leather duster?)

The Waitress would be Trina (Marvin/Dennis' ex, borderline homicidal queen, definitely breaking down)

Frank would be Jason (mostly bc that’s really funny even tho it doesn’t make that much sense)

Charlie would be Mendel (ridiculously in love with the waitress/trina, incredibly chaotic, silly)

Dee would be Cordelia because they are both girlfailures

Artemis would be Charolate, because they are both icons
