Rin’s very first war crime (which is clearly based on the atomic bombs). My baby is growing up so fast 🥲
Side note: don’t take this seriously war crimes are definitely bad irl. I’m just sad for my girl cuz she didn’t deserve this shit 😭

Near the end of The Poppy War (yes it took me 2 years to read this because ya girl got sidetracked) and the first thing I thought about when reading about Golyn Niis was the Nanjing massacre. Lo and behold that’s what it’s based on. Khurdalain also reminded me of the Battle of Shanghai. So I guess this entire war was inspired by the Second Sino-Japanese War.
Japan really has some of the best PR because my god. In the US we aren’t generally taught about Japan’s dealings in WW2 beyond when the US officially engaged them after Pearl Harbor (we learned about wars through a very western-centric lens). We learned next to nothing about the Second Sino-Japanese War. Just that Japan invaded China. Wasn’t til world history in college that we got more into it.
Anyway, I support any and all war crimes Rin and friends commit from here on out 🤷🏾♀️
Gamer idiots whining about the romances in AC Shadows is HILARIOUS considering you could fuck anyone that flirted with you regardless of gender in both Odyssey and Valhalla. I had Kassandra and Eivor living their best bisexual lives. Also… it’s a RPG. To even get the option to do these romances you have to actively pursue them. It is completely possible to simply NOT pursue a romance. Some of y’all are telling on yourselves.
Anyway, play AC Shadows! It’s a fun and beautiful game!
THIS 👏 IS 👏 HOW 👏 YOU 👏 OPEN👏 SHOW
Holy shit.
Running this back because guess who’s going to see both these legends this year…
The darkest thing in the entire Mass Effect series (so far) is what happens to Joker’s family and how we find out about it but he never does. Not only is his father killed by the reapers but then that asari kills his sister because she was hurt and couldn’t stop crying when they were hiding. Then Joker tells you about his family and the way they time the final conversation with the asari to have us realize she’s talking about his family… I just had to sit for a second.
