Stay with me! You can do it! Stay with me!
you and me, one last run
RTD: I've thought about this for years. When we were making Silence in the Library, you once told me the very last scene ever of doctor who. does it still stand?
MOFFAT: No memory of this. Went back through my emails and found it! This from when we were shooting those shows, I think: In my head (and ONLY in my head, this will probably never appear on screen, or be confirmed in any way) River's not just his wife - she's his widow. somewhere in the terrible future, on a battlefield, the 45th Doctor dies in her arms and makes her the same promise she once made him - it's not over for you, you'll see me again. So River buries her husband and off she goes to have lots of adventures with his younger selves and confuse the hell out of them. Until, of course, she ends up in the data core of the library planet, and realises she'll never seem him again. And then she starts to wonder why anyone would call a moon "Doctor". Ah... Yeah, some version of that could still work. The Doctor worrying that she'll get lonely in the library, and popping his dying mind inside a moon. God, look at those words. I actually typed those words!!!
RTD: I can't believe you didn't remember! I've never forgotten that Doctor Moon thing, it's so clever. Every time i watch that story, I think, it's him, it's The Doctor, and no one knows!.
DWM #551 (2020)
I had a couple problems with that episode like the Doctor never letting River know he loves her. We all thought the Doctor said so in Berlin in her ear (which certainly parallels with Rose/Ten Too, a very nice call back and completing a story arc). And River tells 12 that she's only said the things she did to keep their enemies busy (of course, she passes a truth scan but it certainly could be something she could do).
This writer also got things wrong about River's character (like her not knowing Doctors 1 - 9 as well, something she says and talks about, even the War Doctor).
But it's always great to hear Alex talk about River and the author does have some great details (like River tying with Sarah Jane for knowing the most Doctors. Miss you, Sarah Jane.) It's definitely worth a read and a save.
Actress Alex Kingston, who played the Doctor’s wife River Song in TV’s Doctor Who, has released a novel starring her character’s “time noir” alter ego Melody Malone — and you can hear her read an excerpt from The Ruby’s Curse and even read the first chapter yourself! SPOILERS!

I had to get this one. I just love it!
Doctor/River + TTTW quotes (2019 Edition) → It comes out so quietly that I have to ask her to repeat it: “It’s just that I thought maybe you were married to me.”
Please can we have this!
