Go Piss Girl This blog is for my wife
Anonymous asked:

I’ve seen some solid takes from you on Katara and Aang’s relationship so I have to ask…what do you think the problem is? Why do we have constant mischaracterization and atrocious on these two and not even just from Zutara shippers but in general. I genuinely don’t get it, I feel like what we saw was a great development love story between two best friends, it wasn’t perfect and there are things that should be changed, mainly EIP. But overall it was good, I’ve never understood that idea that Katara never reciprocated Aang’s feelings and that it was just a one sided dynamic when that’s not what was shown to me. Will we ever be free from this bs???😭 the most outlandish takes just go against their relationship.

Honestly, I feel like there are a variety of reasons as to why Kataang is continuously misunderstood/analyzed. The most obvious one, and the one from which most other things stem, is that people just don't like the idea of Aang as the love interest. To them, he isn't what a typical male love interest looks like, so they can't imagine why Katara would ever want to be with him when someone who looks like Zuko exists. This isn't just about people who ship zk, either. There are plenty of people who saw that Katara had a crush on Jet and then just decided that was her type, and that she could never fall for Aang because of that. I honestly think it's hilarious, too, how people will bend over backward to explain why they ship Katara with people who aren't Aang—and yes, it is mainly zk fans that I have experienced doing this—but will then just attribute a bunch of stuff that is canon to Kataang to the other ship. Just say you don't think Aang is attractive and leave.

As an extension of that, since people cannot fathom Katara liking Aang romantically, they willfully ignore the signs that Katara is interested in him the way he is in her. They rewrite it as her being motherly towards him, despite clear evidence in the show that Katara treats Aang differently than she treats anyone else. Yes, she supports him emotionally, but he does that for her, too. People just choose to ignore what he does for her or take his actions out of context in order to justify the idea that they have a one-sided relationship where Katara takes on all the emotional labor and Aang is nothing more than a child who pines after Katara and forces her to take care of him.

There is also just a lot of warping of who Aang and Katara are as individual characters. Yes, Aang is a goofy little kid, but he is also a wise and experienced bender, and he has shown time and time again that he has the emotional maturity to handle being THE AVATAR at just 12 years old. Yes, Katara is motherly, but she is also just a kid who likes to have fun and laugh, and she HATES that people don't see her that way. These people don't truly understand the characters in the show, and instead, they self-insert. So, rather than looking at Katara's actions through the lens of who she is as a character and what she wants, they think about what they would want, and that doesn't align with the canon. Something that, for me, further proves the first point I made that also ties into this one is how when Katara shows kindness and empathy to Zuko, it is immediately perceived as being romantic despite it being very in-character for Katara to do, but when she treats Aang the same way, she's being motherly. They like the way Katara and Zuko look together more, so when the 2 of them interact, it's chemistry. But when Katara cups Aang's face lovingly, kisses him on the cheek, or hugs him, it's "mother-son" because it's not visually appealing to them.

That ties into one of my last points—and I have an entire post on this already that you probably read—which is that people are expecting Kataang to have out-of-this-world, mind-blowing chemistry when they are just children. Their relationship is soft and sweet, and more importantly, their friendship is the basis for their romance. Of course, their relationship feels more like a friendship for a majority of the show; THEY'RE BEST FRIENDS. That has always been their core. The progression is supposed to be us watching as these 2 children find each other and recognize parts of themselves in the other in a way that no one else can and develop a friendship that later blossoms into love, at least what love can be for a 12 and 14-year-old.

My final point is that AtLA isn't a show about romance to being with, so, while there is romance interspersed throughout the show, it is a subplot. They don't want to spend as much time building a romance as they do the main story, which makes sense. I will say that I personally still think that they did a good job of building the romance, and that season 3B is really the only place where I feel things could have been better written. However, I think it's just willful ignorance to say that Katara and Aang not interacting a significant amount in the last episodes means that their relationship was "rushed" or "forced". There is still a whole 2.5 seasons worth of build-up at that point, and it's pretty obvious from episode 1 that Katara and Aang have a special connection.

As for the kiss in EIP, it was definitely meant to show the "will they/won't they" nature of Kataang's relationship and to cause drama/tension for the fans. I don't think it was necessary, and it could 100% be taken out, but even with it still in the show, I don't think it's something that breaks Kataang as a ship. It was not okay that Aang kissed her when she said she was confused, but she calls him out, and he recognizes that he messed up. It's not brushed over and just ignored in the moment. He is also 12 and prone to making mistakes, and while it is a big one, I do not think it deserves the vitriol that certain portions of the fandom treat it with. Once again, it is actively addressed in the narrative that he was wrong to do that (he also course corrects later in the comics). Do I wish they could have had just even 1 more one-on-one interaction before the final kiss on the balcony? Sure, but I am also able to understand that a significant portion of time has passed between the 2 scenes and I can suspend my disbelief enough to think that they talked it out or that it was at least something apologized for and forgiven.

This is a lot longer than I expected it to be, but what I really think it boils down to is a.) lack of media literacy and b.) people being upset that what they wanted didn't happen, and rather than recognizing that they are allowed to have an opinion that differs from canon, they will do anything they can to rewrite it so that they can feel vindicated in choosing the ship that they chose. They need it to be canon rather than allowing it to remain headcanon. There has also been a lot of misinformation spread about who the endgame ships were originally intended to be, and that truly set us back as a fandom because people still believe those things to this day, even after it has all been disproven multiple times.

A Future Beyond War Starts With You 💙

My name is Naser, and war has taken everything from me—my mother, my sister, my home, and the life I once knew. In an instant, my world was shattered, leaving behind nothing but memories and the weight of loss.

But even in the darkest moments, I refuse to give up. Because amidst the pain, I still have something worth fighting for—my three younger brothers.

🔹 One dreams of becoming a doctor, to heal others so they don’t have to endure the pain we’ve faced. 🔹 Another aspires to be an engineer, hoping to one day rebuild what war has destroyed. 🔹 And the youngest? He doesn’t have big dreams yet—he just wants to be a kid again, to wake up in a home that feels safe, to play without fear.

But how do you rebuild a life when there’s nothing left to start with?

🏡 We Need a Home. We Need Education. We Need Hope. Right now, we are not just fighting for survival—we are fighting for the chance to live, to grow, to dream again. We are fighting for a future where my brothers can become the doctor, the engineer, the child who gets to have a childhood.

💙 This is where you come in. I’m not asking for much—just a chance. A chance to rebuild, to give my brothers a future beyond war.

Your support, whether through a donation or simply sharing our story, can make all the difference. Even the smallest act of kindness can create ripples of change.

🙏 Will you help us rebuild? Together, we can prove that war doesn’t get the final word—hope does. Thank you for standing with us. 💙✨

🌍✨ A Voice from Gaza: Fighting for Hope ❤️‍🩹

Hi, my name is Mosab , and I’m from Gaza. Life here has been harder than I could ever imagine, but today I’m sharing my story with hope in my heart, because your kindness has already given us so much strength.

This journey hasn’t been easy. The war has taken 25 family members from us—25 beautiful souls we loved deeply. Their laughter, their presence, their love… all of it is gone, leaving behind memories that are both precious and painful. Every day, I carry the weight of their loss, but I also carry their spirit, which gives me the strength to keep going.

Our Journey So Far

When I first reached out, I couldn’t have imagined we’d make it this far. Your support has been a light in these difficult times, and we are so deeply grateful for every single contribution.

But the road ahead is still challenging. Every day, we’re reminded of how much we’ve lost and how much we still need to rebuild.

Here’s what life in Gaza looks like for my family right now:

🏠 Safety: The uncertainty of tomorrow weighs heavily on us.

😢 Loss: The absence of the 25 family members we’ve lost is a pain we carry every moment.

💔 Dreams on Hold: The future feels so far away when survival takes all our strength.

How You Can Help Us Cross the Finish Line Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:

  • $5 may seem small, but for us, it’s a little relief, a moment of comfort, and a reminder that kindness still exists. ❤️
  • Can’t donate? Reblog this post to help us reach someone who can. Every share matters more than you know.

Why Your Support Matters Your kindness isn’t just about helping us meet our goal—it’s about reminding us that we’re not alone in this fight. It’s about hope. It’s about survival. And it’s about giving my family a chance to rebuild our lives, even in the face of unimaginable loss.

Thank you for helping us get this far. Your generosity and compassion have already brought us closer to a better tomorrow, and for that, I’m endlessly grateful.

When I first shared my story, I didn’t know what to expect. I was scared, exhausted, and uncertain if anyone would care. But you did. You showed up. And because of you, hope feels a little less distant today.

💛 Our Journey So Far

With your support, we’ve been able to find small moments of relief in the midst of overwhelming hardship. Every donation, every share, and every kind message has given us the strength to keep going.

But our struggle isn’t over. Every day, we are reminded of what we’ve lost and the challenges that still lie ahead.

🏠 Still Searching for Stability: We are doing everything we can to secure a safe and steady future. 😢 The Pain of Loss Never Fades: The absence of 25 loved ones weighs heavily on us every day. 💔 Dreams Still on Hold: Survival takes all our strength, but we still believe in rebuilding.

🚀 How You Can Help Us Keep Going

Even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference:

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping us get this far. You are part of our story now.

With love and endless gratitude, Mosab and Family ❤️

Urgent Appeal: Help My Family Before the New Year

My name is Ahmed, and I am asking for your help. My family – my parents, brothers, and sons – are in a desperate situation after our home was destroyed in an airstrike in Gaza. We are now sheltering in a flimsy tent, exposed to the cold and rain, with no food, clothing, or shelter to survive the coming days.

My sister-in-law is nine months pregnant and is severely malnourished and anemic. She is weak and vulnerable, and we have nothing to prepare for the baby due in a few days.

We urgently need to raise $15,000 by the beginning of the new year to provide us with the basics: food, warmth, and a safe place to stay.

Your support, no matter how small, can make a life-changing difference. Together, you can help my family and start the new year with hope and dignity.

To donate:

Your kindness today may bring us safety, warmth, and a chance to heal.

It’s funny to me when people say “christofacists are taking over the US!” And although I agree that christofacism is on the rise it’s misleading to say they are “taking over” Like. Let’s be for real. America was founded on christofacism. Do you remember pledging your allegiance to America ~under god~ when you were 5 years old?? I was born in a Christian American cult. After escaping it I realized how much of the rest of America is not much different to that cult. Look at who our politicians are. They’ve been endorsing Christian ideology from day one. Yes, fascism is becoming more intense but don’t forget this is not a new issue in this country. It’s as old as when english colonizers used genocide to make this country “free” only for rich white christian men. Now days they are just trying to reinstate their power over us.

Join something.

Doesn’t matter what it is. Doesn’t need to be political, but it can be.

Just join something. Join a book club. Join a knitting group. Join a kickball league, or a gardening club, or a climate action group. Just join something.

Fascists want you isolated, disconnected and despondent. Your main goal in life for the next 4 years (and possibly beyond) is to do the opposite of what fascists want you to do.

They are better prepared than they were last time but so are we. We know who they are and what they want to do. We can prepare ourselves and our communities for it, but only if we actually have communities.

If you do want to get engaged in politics, do it at the local level.

If you live in a blue area, you need to fight to keep it that way. Talk to your local representatives and make sure they are doing everything in their power to enact protections against Project 2025.

If you live in a red area, fight to change that. Work on city council campaigns, and state congressional campaigns. Keep an eye on local legislation and bring attention to all the universally unpopular policies republicans are going to push through.

Fascism only wins if we do nothing. Fascism wins if we throw up our hands and throw in the towel. Fascism win if we make it easy for them to win.

Don’t make it easy.

Trump is saying and will continue to say he had a massive win and has a mandate and most Americans agree with him. Do not listen. His win was incredibly narrow.

He did not win the majority of the popular vote. The majority of Americans who voted for President did not vote for him.

His large electoral college victory was due to very narrow wins in swing states. The margins in six swing states were 3.2%, 3.1%, 2.2%, 1.7%, 1.4%, 0.9%.

A 1.6% swing in each of them would have given Harris a 308 to 230 win in the electoral college. A 0.9% swing in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Michigan would have given Harris a 270 to 268 win. Less than a percent.

This election was not a landslide. His win was so so so narrow.

This doesn't mean he's not the president and it doesn't mean we don't have to deal with his shit for the next four years. But when people (both his proud allies and his despondent opponents) say he won overwhelmingly, don't let them get away with that. There is too much despair in it. "This is what an overwhelming majority of Americans wanted" is not true and saying it gives him more power.

I am Ahmed from Gaza, 26 years old. I stand before you as a person trying to support my family of 7: me, my father, my mother and my sisters, in our miserable circumstances, which we live in after the occupation launched the war on Gaza. We were displaced from our home and it was completely destroyed. We are now living in shelters. Due to the circumstances and low income, we are unable to provide the necessary benefits such as food and drink due to the crazy increase in prices. Thus, my source of livelihood has been destroyed, but it has been completely destroyed, as we are no longer entitled to work; and we expect to live in miserable conditions in the shelters. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in the shelters; without food, medicine or clean drinking water; with the oppression, helplessness, psychological pressures, doubts and daily shocks caused by everything around us and the inability to care for our loved ones. The fear of danger, disease and death never leaves us.

Now, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my father and mother, by getting us out of Gaza to Egypt and building a new life outside Gaza or helping us get money to buy the necessities that we may be able to afford. Asking for help is not easy, but we had no choice because we want to survive and strive to rebuild our shattered lives. We are very grateful for any help you can offer, no matter how small, as your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.”

I hope everyone can help my family🙏

Hello everyone,

I will tell you my story about the war in the Gaza Strip, and I hope you will help me get out to safety. Thank you very much. I am Ali Miqdad, 33 years old, and my wife, Aya Hamdan, 25 years old. I have two children, my beloved, who is 5 years old and Adam, who is 2 years old

In light of the war on us, we lost everything: home, money, business, and even clothes. I paid everything in the house and business that I had because of the bombing that we witnessed throughout the days. To this day, we have been displaced several times, and the first night was very difficult. In the morning, it was our first displacement and exit from the house, and then we lost. We all lost our beautiful memories and the wonderful things that me and the family used to live on

We lost our beautiful memories and the wonderful things that my family and I used to live on. The hardest thing we lost was safety and peace due to the violent bombing that surrounded us at every time and moment and in all the places to which we were displaced. Also, the days that we spent in displacement several times were difficult due to the lack of work to obtain. For money, clothes, food, water, and meeting the needs of the family and the needs of the children, especially since we are in tents and there is no healthy food or medicine due to the spread of diseases.

Through the process of repeated displacement, we lost the stable and recreational life that I used to live with my wife, my children, Habiba and Adam, who lost their beautiful childhood, the first days of their childhood, and their toys that they loved and played with all the time. My daughter, Habiba, lost her studies in kindergarten, and my wife, who suffers from fatigue and exhaustion all the time. As a result of displacement from one place to another, and from tent to tent, which completely changed the nature of our lives from a beautiful house to a tent in the middle of the street in which we sleep.

I need your cooperation and help in raising money to leave the Gaza Strip because the exit from the Gaza Strip is due to the war

I hope everyone will donate for my family and children🙏❤️

🚨 Save Adam 🚨🚑

If you ignore this, you are condemning Adam to death

I speak to you from the heart of a mother who is watching her son collapse before her eyes 💔😥

My heart bleeds with pain for Adam whose weak body cannot bear the catastrophic environment in which he lives

He lost 15 kilograms of his weight due to the lack of special food for a disabled child who has difficulty swallowing and digesting

Now he suffers from a health problem that has affected his respiratory system as a result of the dust, destruction and polluted environment surrounding him

He suffers from muscle spasms due to the lack of medicine, as he needs medicine that he takes in two doses daily, morning and evening

Imagine with me, O human, that you have a disabled child and you stand helpless, unable to provide him with food, medicine or shelter, as we live in a tent that resembles a grave

Your donation may save Adam from death 🙏💙

Adam will enjoy health and wellness if you provide him with his food and medicine

My home, along with all my cherished memories and dreams, was destroyed. Now, homeless, I struggle to find a safe place for me and for my family.Me and my husbande welcomed our first baby into the world.

My small family, consisting of two children, was living a simple life, full of safety and peace. My beautiful daughter Tulin, 8 years old, my son Zaki, 7 years old, and my husband Adnan. We used to wake up early to prepare breakfast and get our children ready for school, so they could continue their education like other children. We lived a normal life, and although it was simple, it was filled with love and warmth. But everything changed in a single moment, on October 7th, when fires erupted everywhere, and the sound of shelling and explosions filled the air. The children were terrified and refused to go to school from that day on, and our lives became consumed by fear and terror.

One dark night, while we were still hoping that the situation would calm down, there was a violent knock on the door. A voice warned us: "Leave immediately, you have to flee, the area will be bombed." We had no choice but to run. We left the house with only the clothes on our backs, taking nothing with us. We ran through the dark night, filled with fear and anxiety about what awaited us.

After a long day of exhaustion and suffering, we arrived in Khan Younis, searching for a place to protect us. It wasn’t easy to find one, but after a long search, we found a school in Bani Suheila. We stayed there for 50 days, living in constant fear. Bombings were happening everywhere, and the situation kept worsening. We had no clothes or blankets to shield our children from the biting cold of the night. We tried to hide them under blankets donated by kind-hearted people, trying to find some warmth for them.

But even this shelter wasn’t safe. Shortly after, we received a threat from the occupation that the school and the entire area would be bombed. We had to flee again, so we decided to move towards Rafah, to Tel al-Sultan. We didn’t know where to go or where we could find safety. The cold was unbearable, and we had no money or resources to build a tent. We tried any way we could to find shelter. We built a tent from pieces of wood and fabric, but the cold was so severe, and my children were freezing, getting sick again and again.

We stayed there for several months, trying to endure, until the decision came to invade Rafah. That’s when everything collapsed. We had no more hope, and we didn’t know where to go or where we could find refuge. We decided to flee once again, this time to Muwassi Khan Younis and Deir al-Balah. But danger surrounded us from every direction, and there was no safe place. We built a new tent, but it was nothing more than pieces of wood and fabric. It didn’t protect us from the cold, nor did it stop my children’s tears that fell every night from the freezing cold and fear.

My husband suffers from high blood pressure, and I suffer from severe migraines that make it impossible for me to endure the harsh cold. We are now living on the seashore, in a tent that doesn’t provide us with adequate protection. My children cry from pain and cold, and I can do nothing but watch them, helpless, unable to offer them anything.

Please, to anyone reading this story, we are an exhausted family. We have been displaced four times and have not found a safe place. Our children are suffering, and our lives are in constant danger. We plead to anyone who can help us to save us. Any donation or help could be a lifeline for us in these harsh conditions. Save my family from this war, and give us a new chance at life.

We have no shelter or enough food. We sleep on the cold ground, and my children complain of the cold and hunger while I try to smile to comfort them. My family
to whom it may concern

My name is Jamal, and I have been living in the UK as a refugee for several years. I have not seen my family for over six years, when I left Gaza to escape the difficult conditions. Now, with the war raging again, the situation is more tragic than ever.

This my brothers

My family lives in Shujaiya, which was completely destroyed. My family lost more than 20 of our relatives, and I cannot express the extent of my pain and grief. My brothers and their children are living in a dire situation; they have been displaced more than five times, moving between refugee camps, under constant rocket attacks.

Now, they are trapped in southern Gaza, living in tents that offer no protection from the harsh winter cold. They face severe shortages of food and water, while the dangers around them increase. Their hearts are in pain every moment, and the eyes of the children who used to smile in the pictures are now threatened with losing hope.

I have tried hard to transfer them to Egypt in search of safety, but the Egyptian authorities are demanding up to $6,000 per person, which seems impossible under the current circumstances. I cannot bear to see my nephews become a painful memory or fragments under the rubble.

I am asking for your help and support in these difficult times. I need your help in finding ways to move my family to safety and secure their basic needs. Any help will be a ray of light in this darkness.

Thank you very much for your time and listening.

Sincerely, Jamal
