Btw much as I love to make fun of twitter and reddit's business decisions, I have 0% trust in tumblr's management to not go a similar route so this is your gentle reminder that you should regularly go to your blog settings to export your blog. That's a fancy way of saying you can download a backup of your blog so if everything goes down you'll still have a backup of your posts & convos.

Something that has just occured to me: Ozai didn't seem to have a military title - which is odd, considering that Iroh was a general of the glorious Fire Nation army. He was leading the siege of Ba Sing Se while Ozai... sat on his ass at the palace, sharing the space with his resentful father? Why? Was Ozai known as the loser prince that never brought the Fire Nation any glory? Especially compared to his remarkable brother and nephew? Was that it? Was Azulon against Ozai's military carreer? Why? Did he consider his second son this much of a fuckup? Did he hate him? Did Ozai secretly itch to kill the old bastard for years? Did Azulon? Did Zuko ever have a chance of being accepted by his father, or was he doomed by the circle of abuse the second he was born a boy, destined to be hated by his father the same way he had once been hated himself?

#unimportant lore tidbit but ozai actually commissioned the construction of the boiling rock some time before his reign#or during? I’m not sure#(source is the lost lore of avatar aang archive)#but I think that shows that instead of participating in the war ozai was more focused on domestic and political affairs#and I think that’s rlly important to Ozai’s character and i want it to be explored more#cuz it sorta implies that he was involved with other civil projects as prince and as fire lord compared to azulon and iroh#who both were more focused on gaining territory and winning the war#I’d love to see a 16-20yr ozai studying architecture or engineering either cuz it was forced upon him or he actually chose to do it#it would add to who he is as a character a lot me thinks. just so he isn’t pushed down into the box of ‘the evil big bad’ of the story#or idk maybe I’m insane
