kihyun has always been someone who looks out for others and brings comfort and joy to everyone around him and i feel like youth is his chance to be that for himself (and his younger self). last week kihyun was talking about seeing his vocal teacher (the same vocal teacher he’s had since trainee days) so i went and rewatched the part in no mercy where he’s with that same vocal teacher. and kihyun is so embarrassed about being ranked 8th 😭 it’s cute but it also hurts my heart a little and he’s so hard on himself abt the group evaluation too :( but ngl when i first watched this i was like omfg relax 8th isn’t that bad 🙄 LMAO but like. i watched this a while after mx debuted so i obv already knew the result, i knew everything would turn out fine for him and the other members too. but baby kihyun didn’t know that!!! and now with the lyrics to youth (wish i could tell myself at that time that i was already doing well)... weeps and sobs
