Dishonesty From the Rust Bunnies Mods.
I am not usually one for "callout" posts, but I have grown increasingly aggravated seeing certain people in leadership not be held accountable for their words and actions. So I’ve decided to come forward with very clear, chronological evidence showing what leadership of the Rust Bunnies Zine said outside of their project server which contradicts the positive image of their behavior I've seen painted elsewhere.
The project has had some controversy surrounding it, and in my opinion while much of their decisions were disorganized and showed a lack of transparency, they were relatively minor and resolved internally. I am not here to criticize them for those things. I am also not here to criticize their choice to exclude certain people from their project for creating dead dove content that makes them uncomfortable. To be clear, I think there is nothing wrong with that.
The issue is not that this exclusion was a rule. The issue is that this information was intentionally withheld from participants. The issue is that the head mod claimed she never made a blacklist, when she absolutely did. The issue is people claiming that the mods never name dropped or spoke ill of dead dove content creators, when they absolutely did. While they may have kept a respectful tone within the project server, it is not true outside of the project server.
