1 useless DBH worldbuilding info everyday:

  • The UN's secretary-general is, by 2038, a guy called Douglas Cornwell (in the game they use the term "chairman").

source: The Painter chapter, TV News

  • Detroit's mayor is apparently a woman, with the magazine using the pronoun "her". But she's, likely due to translations issues, referenced as "governor of Detroit" rather than the "mayor" title [1]. In previous versions we had the name "Alan Turner", but who knows if was a woman or a man, likely a man if i consider Warren's case [2].

  • If Carl dies in Broken some people actually believes "his android" (Markus) attacked and killed him even tho no such thing is publicly mentioned. The info released to the public was that it was a "fatal cardiac event induced by a stressful domestic situation". A NPC mentions reading the rumor "somewhere", what suggests to me maybe some gossip magazines been spreading funny rumors about cases involving androids.

  • US coastal cities are struggling with floods due to the climate changes and environmental agencies are saying that cities like New Orleans could be completely submerged by 2055 and New York by 2085 if no one do shit.

source: A New Home chapter, TV News. (this is an unused dialogue, so... if u wanna take it seriously or not it's up to u, ain't got nothing in the game that contradicts it but it isn't in the released version for a reason)

  • There's a high flux of east coast people moving to California after a high speed train called "SubTube" connecting cities like Manhattan and Los Angeles (in a journey a less than 2hrs at 1800 mph) was completed. It's such a high flux the California born-raised (esp LA) mfs are pissed and concerned they're being pulled out of 'em own city and state by these east coast folks cuz they're buying every house in suburbans they can, what made the prices rise 64%.

  • [1] The "malfunctions/defect" software instability already in deviant state causes is called a Class 4 error, [2] possibly what may be identifiable to CyberLife systems as "non-genuine code" as it ain't an "official/registered" pattern [3] recognized by CyberLife systems and the actual Android legislation in general. The "class" and "4" indicates to me that, in the Android Act and actual tech category, we got a range infringements that could be from the less serious to the most serious.

  • [1] The Chloe ST200 was the first commercial android model to be manufactured by CyberLife, and it was back in 2022. [2] Her success is what gave CyberLife the green light to start her world domination overall android commercial mass-production around 2024.

  • [1] Red Ice (Acetone, Lithium, Thirium, Toluene, Hydrochloric acid) is referred as a "powerful methamphetamine" (C10H15N), and it explains the similarities with crystal meth. [2] Curiously it uses the cocaine (C17H21NO4) formula in the scaleform, maybe was indeed the original idea or a reference. [3] A Task Force was organized in 2027 to track sources and make arrests, what makes me assume the drug started becoming common on the streets around the 2024~2026 period.

  • This is the battlefield for the United States vs Russia "Thirium War" that can become a World War 3 if allies get involved:

  • CyberLife and the Basketball league are having negotiations to allow 1 specialized android per baskeball team to compete and it's making some people =/ about the possibility of basketball players start being replaced rather than just adding some spice. Androids been already used to train players and give advice since 2035 but now they're thinking about the player active role, so yeah... the experiment was about to begin.

  • Cristina Warren was elected president in 2036 and always had a controversial image for [1] using social media at her favor (she was a vlogger), and it made a lot of people suspect there was something suspicious behind her election, ofc involving CyberLife and a potential tactic to fuck with her opponent. It's still in investigation, tho. Since she has been elected she grew even more unpopular thru time, with people thinking she's making a mess and being just "too close" to big fish such as CyberLife. [2] But to the high unemployment rate she only says "the economy is booming thanks to CyberLife androids". Well, tells a lot about the type of politician she is.

  • The world is in the verge of a probable famine cuz relevant animals such as the bees are officially extinct, with the surviving ones only inside captivity. It was a predicted event. Now megacorporations such as CyberLife are partnering with orgs like the Global Institute for Endangered Species (GIES) to create robotic bees. Ofc other minor orgs (like the Urban Farms) are trying the not-robotic approach and doing 'em own thing but no one knows if it'll really help in a large scale and long-term. Oh, boy... megacorporations.

  • Military androids started being developed sometime before the early 30s with the Army ordering around 2 million units in 2031[1], starting to replace almost everyone by 2032. Since then they're already more than 80% of the entire army combat units[2] and at least 60% of the entire US military in 2038[3], mostly infantry androids such as the SQ800s. New units are also currently being developed and used in the US Navy for marine combat such as the Trojan and Myrmidon[4], part of the war effort to counter Russia's advantage in the Arctic when talking about androids (they can operate in freezing conditions while CyberLife androids freeze as we can see in BfD)[5]. It's expected at least 200k units, 5% being at least these special ones. There's also a bill seemingly yet to be passed allowing said androids to be used in the frontlines if shit hit the fan. It became kinda controversial and is supported by a Senator Corey.[6]

  • By 2038 the vast majority of vehicles in circulation around Detroit are electric and/or autonomous.

  • There are people that like going hunting for androids in abandoned places. Seems like a common friend bounding activity among younger people.

source: The Pirate's Cove chapter, cut Chase section

The life expectancy in US by 2038 is 91[1] and there are too many old people compared to younger people in activity (numbers going down)[2], what suggests androids are carrying the SSA xD

The question hidden within enemies-to-lovers is “who will love me at my worst?”, the question hidden within friends-to-lovers is “who will love me at my most mundane?”, hope this helps
