I really enjoyed your games, but i stumble on a problem in a Bleeding Hearth and i'm unable to reach problem of reaching endings IV-VI because no matter which answers i give to Darcy i end up either in "Human Nature" ending or "submit". is there a way around to reach other endings? Great thanks ^_^

oh no not again

i happened to already be working in twine on something else when you just sent me this so i jumped over and Hopefully have finally fixed this problem. i was able to get past the human nature ending on my side of things but please let me know if it's still not working!

you can only lie to darcy once, any more than that and you'll get the human nature or submit endings (in theory. if the code is working now lol)

#it was everything to play for and it was really good#mostly just an introductory book i would love to read something that goes more in depth... i got games of empire which she references#but its from like the early 2000s#anyways i will read baru next month <- has been saying this for like 3 months now

Wesley Short is depressed. Meds don't work. He hasn't felt alive in years, meandering through life with a dead end job and few prospects. When he learns that his high school crush- or maybe, fascination- is in jail and suspected of murder, he decides to take the leap and cast himself as the victim in a gory love story.

re-break my bones (and set them right) is a ~20,000 word gay romantic thriller about masochism, emptiness, and the need to be seen. It is available in formatted PDFs in serif, sans-serif, and OpenDyslexic.

Announcing the second Queer Vampire IF Jam!

This is a month-long game jam that will run from January 10 - February 20th, 2025. The goal of this jam is to create more interactive fiction games about queer vampires, focusing both on queer relationships and queer experiences as told through a vampiric narrative.

Check out the entries from last year here!

JAM RULES:

  1. Your project must focus on queer characters and vampires. Queer relationships, romantic or platonic, as well as other queer experiences, whether gay, lesbian, bisexual, ace, aro, trans and nonbinary - this is an inclusive jam. 
  2. You can write from a human or vampire perspective (or both!)
  3. This jam will accept any medium, so long as the work is an Interactive Fiction.
  4. This jam will accept adult content as well as games covering heavy & uncomfortable topics, but please be sure to properly list trigger warnings either in-game or on the game page.
  5. Entries that promote any kind of bigotry will not be accepted.
  6. Games should not include any AI generated content.
  7. You can submit as many entries as you'd like.
  8. There is no language requirement; we will accept games in any language.
  9. You are allowed to start working on your project early! That's why I'm announcing it now. This jam is unranked and it's not a contest, this is just for fun.

What is Interactive Fiction?

Personally, I find interactive fiction hard to define, and I’m not interested in policing it, so as long as it’s recognizably interactive fiction - ie, the game has a narrative focus primarily with text, and the player can interact (whether that be with direct choices, clicking through links, or allowing the player to choose how to move around and interact with the world/the game like in bitsy) then it counts. Parsers, visual novels, choose-your-own-adventures are some of the popular examples of IF, but there are plenty that don’t fall within any category. Check out the IF tag on itch.io and you can see just how varied it is.

Does it have to be horror?

No, any genre is accepted!

rewriting these first two tnp chapters is just me asking myself what the fuck was i doing over and over again. i feel like im untangling hundreds of knots out of a massive ball of yarn

#it's actually not even finished yet i have like 2 more passages before the transitions lol#if you're wondering why this is taking so long.#never tell me i dont give you variety#i should have noted how long the original version of this scene was but i mostly rewrote this section from scratch lol#all i have left are the transition passages and then. another conversation with another character. riveting stuff

#so many bizarre choices with like. minor branching and coding#hopefully i can condense more of the passages down and better organize them#and also cut down on variables... jfc#this one section with like. the hunter being awake or passed out at the start of the chapter is truly so stupid#like why did i write it in this order when i easily could have combined the paths at the beginning#i think part of it was i was like. sooo worried about variation and there 'not being enough'#but in the end a lot of it is just pointless.... and there's still a lot of variation i would like to think. imo. but i know one thing#people are going to hate when i republish this is that a lot of choices have been cut out#and i make the hunter do things (similar to how you can't refuse clementine on the road anymore)#you have to accept or decline clem's deal now. no special deals its for the money or not at all#the hunter has a very specific motivation that compels them towards money right now#and you'll always go visit merry at the end of the chapter. holding the players at gunpoint about it :3c#it's better i promise. it already feels so much more streamlined#and i think it gives more of a fair balance of time with all the characters esp since you can only go with one in the city#the other scenes will ensure you still have one on one time with all of them outside of that too

blood4blood is a short, adult (18+) interactive fiction game where you play as a butch lesbian vampire out for blood on valentine's day night.
