[ID: Art of L and Matsuda from Death Note. L pats Matsuda on the back and says, “good work today matsui im almost proud of you”. Matsuda, bright-eyed and blushing says, “w what really??!!? oh thank you ryuzaki”. They part ways, L drinking from a cup and humming “mhm” and Matsuda sparkling and saying “i promise i wont let you down ryuzaki!”. There is now a “Kick Me” sign taped to Matsuda’s back. End ID.]

animanga light yagami would be so fucking jealous of musical light yagami. theyre in the afterlife chilling and musical light is reminiscing about the moment he felt L's heart stop underneath his hand after he got to do his whole evil monologue at him and animanga light is like you were alone with him??? when he died????? and musical light is like yeah weren't you. and animanga light is like [contemptuously] well at least i got to see him in the morgue

@draw-thy-sword you understand me

Anonymous asked:

what draws you to misa amane?

oh this is such a good question let me see if i can do it justice.

two of my favorite themes in anything are

  1. characters who are performances
  2. what if love was not good

and misa is basically like if you took these two and smashed them together in a way perfectly calculated to obliterate me

like she's so! our first introduction to her is her pretending to be someone else (the first kira) so well that she even fools the audience. our second introduction to her is rem telling her that she is only alive because someone loved her, someone was killed by their love for her, and misa looks down for a second — looks almost sad — and then smiles and immediately starts scheming to kill her too.

who the fuck does that? what is wrong with her?

#shoves this in my mouth #misamisa i looove you #misa amane wants to get a good grade in being in love. maybe because some part of her childishly still believes in universal reciprocity #difficult feeling to articulate but the bpd favorite person madness is so. clenches fist. misa is one of the most startlingly visceral depictions I’ve ever seen of it #I’m still haunted by audio drama misa’s rant on top of the building #stupid little housewife… #a dream she breaks herself into pieces for. why. why? #because it’s something to live for it’s something to do it’s something that should be Good #isn’t a good thing to be loved? isn’t it a good thing to love? #there’s a developmental psychology study out there whose name i forget but tldr #women will grow up and associate love with sacrifice #as in the correct way to ‘do’ love. is by sacrificing #misa sacrifices. over and over. it’s the only way she understands how to love #and this is because she wants to be good at loving!! she’ll make light love her!! #and i think that. if she believes she’s a good lover. she is also worthy of living another day #her suicidality. her worth as an idol. the way being an idol means you only exist as something to be loved. you know? #I’m not even adding anything coherent I’m just so. holds my head. i really love misa…

(via @luzon-dove) god you get it. you get it. if she is good enough at being cute and sweet and heterosexual and tearing out everything she actually is to do so then she'll get what she wants, be who she wants, in the end. because misa-misa always gets what she wants. misa wins for so much of death note only to lose so fucking badly right at the end

i didn’t write about her in this ficlet for Reasons but sayu's side of the postcanon deh matsusayu au is no less of a nightmare. ide is correct that she has already figured out matsuda isn’t attracted to her (at least not romantically) and in fact she isn’t attracted to matsuda either she is doing this out of

  1. fucked up self harm instinct due to The Guilt (if she hadn’t been kidnapped mello wouldn’t have gotten the notebook and her father would still be alive and if her father was still alive maybe light would still be alive too)
  2. attempt to prove to herself she has Recovered and is capable of doing “normal” things like kissing boys
  3. subconscious urge to get revenge on her dad by dating a cop (because he always warned her against it and she doesn’t realize it but she’s kind of furious at him for never being home and for saying that saving her, sayu, made him a “failure as a police officer”)
  4. mix of genuine gratitude for matsuda being the first person to ever tell her (what she thinks is) the truth about her brother rather than treating her like glass, AND an attempt to get him to shut the fuck up and stop poetically describing light dying in front of his eyes

I am utterly in love with the moeisms of L in every adaptation. manga L’s range from pretty boy to frog goblin. anime L’s ugliness but insanely sexy voice. musical L’s cute green jacket and awareness of the 4th wall. audio drama L’s decision to kill Ryuk as retributive justice. movie L’s crepe parting gift to Matsuda. jdrama L’s all white ensemble, allergy to outside air, perfectly fluffed and volumized hair, sweets fixation replaced by konjac jelly pouches, and meticulous eyeliner. change the world L wearing Light’s broken watch. netflix adaptation L fully sprinting and chasing Light around the city with a gun and murderous intent. every L has at least one new moeism to bring to the character and it delights me every time.

the first time misa suggests sex to light in yotsuba arc is specifically to annoy L because he's trying to come up with new and worse methods of 24/7 surveillance. the second time misa suggests sex to light in yotsuba arc is to throw L off the scent of her plan to catch higuchi herself. i don't actually remember her asking for affection from light at any other point in yotsuba. which could mean nothing

UM GUYS. I JUST NOTICED A CRAZY ISSUE W THE TUMBLR UPDATE.

YOU CAN SEE THE ICONS OF ANONS SOMETIMES.

The way I was able to recognize several anons in one of my inboxes bc of this error. Oh my god. Guys. This isn’t supposed to happen.

Weighing in to say:

YES, I SEE THIS ON MOBILE. HOWEVER I DO **NOT** THINK IT'S SHOWING THE ANON'S REAL IDENTITY.

The profile pictures I see next to anon asks are profile pictures that belong to other, non-anon asks in my ask box also. Some info

  • there are 14 asks in my inbox from the last ~5 days
  • 9 anons, 5 logged in users
  • ALL 14 show pfps, including the 9 anons
  • ALL THE SHOWN PROFILE PICTURES BELONG TO THE 5 LOGGED IN USERS

I think the bug is the inbox INCORRECTLY attributing anons to neighboring, logged-in asks.

Which is still a bad bug! Considering it makes it look like a long-time follower of mine sent me a spam ask.

And is worse if, say, one of these was anon hate.

But it's NOT the anon's real identity. It's a neighboring ask asker's identity

So if you have anon hate in your inbox that looks like it's attributed to your dear friend, who sends you lovely asks all the time, it was Not them.

CONFIRMED THE BUG IS INCORRECT ATTRIBUTION.

Thanks @thepatchycat for being a test subject. As you can see the icon being attributed to this ask is NOT the patchy cat

The pictured icon belongs to @watchingforcomets who sent me a nice ask about nail polish yesterday which I have not yet answered!
