Artwork of Miki Saegusa and Godzilla from the manga "Godzilla 1990" commissioned for the cover of the winter 1990 issue of Comic Genki, Kadokawa Shoten, January 1990. The artwork is by the author of the manga, Toshihiro Hirano. Scanned from my personal collection.
Hirano's manga, based on the 1989 film "Godzilla vs Biollante", makes some changes to the story of the film such as Doctor Genichiro Shiragami dying when Biollante is born, the second battle with Biollante taking place in Osaka and a redesign of the Super X2. The manga was eventually compiled into a single volume, released under the Newtype 100% Comics imprint in July 1990.
