The crux of the anti trans movement is a war on bodily autonomy. They don't want you to have any agency over what you look like, how you dress, who you date, whether to have kids, etc.
They want total control over you. Not just trans people. Not just queer people. You. Everyone.
Trans people are just a scapegoat. They want total control over everyone's self expression. They want the right to mold you into their perfect little cog in their dehumanizing machine.

So a little fun backstory on this image. the woman in the right side of the picture who looks absolutely miserable is one of the federal workers who got fired by Elon—she was a cancer researcher at NIH investigating treatments for childhood cancer and was in the mandated probationary period because she had gotten promoted to lead her team of doctorate level biologists. Congressman Jamie Raskin invited her as a guest to Trump’s address as a representative for all the fired federal workers. And they sat her literally a seat away from Elon to listen as the president of the United States praised the guy who eliminated her job while also talking about the importance of defeating childhood cancer

2) You’re right that many of the federal workers who are losing their jobs don’t have PhDs. However, you want to know what type of federal worker you really do want to have a Doctorate? The kind trying to cure cancer. Her qualifications are the point. The point is that is does not matter how qualified you are for the job, it does not matter that you were in the “probationary” (aka mandatory transitional phase that has NOTHING to do with performing poorly) period because you were doing well enough to be promoted. The people being fired are being done so based on NO qualification other than one rich asshole’s desire to slash and burn and be cruel about doing so. If a highly qualified highly educated researcher doing important work has no chance, then it makes it utterly clear that NO ONE DOES.
Here is the thing about solidarity. It requires having empathy for and seeing the merit of the struggle of others who may not resemble us or our situations exactly. The point of solidarity is to say “we are different, our situations are different, but we are struggling together against the same fundamental forces.” Solidarity requires identification of the self in the other, no matter how different.
3) I think you may be underestimating how much of the federal workforce does have advanced degrees, which is why MAGA finds it an easy demographic to target anti intellectualism against. I think it would benefit us all to stop trying to define who is “the common person” and define who is and who isn’t “the norm” and recognize that one of the only things we all have in common is differences. Stratification into categories is what authoritarians use to divide and conquer. Please, don’t fall for it.
