Love your blog, you've been through so much and you are just beyond an amazing person Can I ask How did you get into teaching ? Did you do a PCGE Course? I ve always wanted to teach it's just I've decided to do a diploma which is equivalent to a PCGE. It so hard fitting it around a full time job. I also wanted to ask you how did you deal with working with negative people in your old job ( I am currently working with a few negative people and it's so overwhelming and it gets to me sometimes)
Hey thanks :)I did an ITT course which was a degree and teacher training in one. Was supposed to be a three year thing. I managed it in four and a half.In regards to negativity, find people who support you. There will be someone. I had to leave my department every break and lunchtime and go to a different building just to maintain what composure I had. It was the people around me who got me through it in the last few months. Its a tough job and someone will have your back.In the end though, despite the help of those around me, I knew I had to leave. As much as it felt like admitting defeat, it was the best thing I ever did. Don't be afraid of walking away from a situation you know isn't right and won't be fixed. For me that meant spending six months unemployed, near penniless and isolated. But I was finally able to get another job and on my bad days I'm still happier than the best days at my last school.Things will work out I promise. You'll be amazing.
