Hi Lamare. I have 100% (curiosity based) question for you. I have seen that you made functional/hacked hygiene stuff which is AWESOME. Do you plan or have you ever thought of doing/making similar stuff with makeup like things?
Hi! I did think to include βchange appearanceβ interactions in the mix and making makeup looking supplies for them, but I donβt know.. First problem is a lot of people use Gussy Up or similar mods to makeover their pixels and it will prob bypass the supplies. Second is Iβm lazy to do makeovers as it is and if Iβll know that every time I use a mirror itβll cost me Iβll be even less inclined to do it? Might be the same for others who are like me. Same reason why I donβt use mods for paid taxi rides, gas expenses or driverβs licensesβI donβt use cars often enough and those mods will make me use them even less. With cleaning and hygiene, you canβt really avoid those interactions, so having the supplies mod will force you to buy stuff and make homes look more lived in, which is exactly what I aim for as a lazy decorator! Or rather not lazy, but a person who skips on unnecessary items. But I love clutter, and now I have a good reason to use it. Have to manipulate myself a little there! So yeah, this is my thinking as of now
Hey lamare! Love your mods. I figured out a custom career Lifetime want. I would now like to graduate to normal Lifetime wants, such as my 3t2 idea βChess Legendβ or βGolden Tongue, Golden Fingersβ where Sims will get the want from winning games of chess or by maxing Charisma and Creativity, respectively. Any tips/tutorials?
ooh, love the chess idea! I remember doing tournaments in sims 3, they were pretty fun to play! Especially when the game assigned you a match with an npc that was hard to catch π man the skill challenges were so good
anyway
you have to find a point in code where you want to trigger the ltw, in case of chess, it would be some bhav at the end of the game
Iβm not sure the sims 2 game counts chess games, you may have to create a token to count them for you, like I did with crafting, fishing, etc
all this assuming you have general modding/bhav/simantics knowledge
Made a few storages for supplies, all with empty states!
And then made some more!
Let's not forget to have our traditional fire, of course π
Look at that stuffed catalogue!! πππ
There's one that doubles as a medicine cabinet, by LordCrumps
@lordcrumps look! I put on my big girl pants and managed to add more bottles and make subsets for the empty state π

Hi Lamare,
I've been using your cleaning supplies (and laundry) mods and loving them, but I ran into an odd issues with the former. Whenever I try to change a baby's diaper at the (vanilla Maxis) changing table, I get the following error:
Object id: 32 name: Diaper Stack size: 4 Error: Illegal owner field in data reference. Iterations: 1 Frame 3: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 6 Tree: id 1874 name 'Check/Subtract Cleaning/Washing Supplies' version 1 from global Prim state: 0 Params: 1 2 1 Locals: 0 0 0 9 Frame 2: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 11 Tree: id 4096 name 'Function - Init - Diaper' version 14 from Diaper Prim state: 0 Params: Locals: Frame 1: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 0 Tree: id -1 name 'No behavior' version 0 from Prim state: 1 Params: Locals: Frame 0: Stack Object id: 0 Node: 0 Tree: id 4097 name 'Function - Main' version 11 from Diaper Prim state: 0 Params: Locals:
The game then freezes until I hit delete with the testing cheats enabled. What Caused This idetifies lamare_suppliesMOD.package as the culprit, and indeed removing it solves the problem. At first I thought it might be a conflict with Siknoy336's Babies Need Diapers mod, but it happens even without it. I tried running the HCDU but it didn't find anything suspicious. Any ideas? π€ Thanks again for everything you do!
Hi Pixeldolly
Thanks for the report! This error will be fixed in the next update
Funny, I'm working on a diaper stack object right now :D
πΆ BTW, everybody, if you come across a deco diaper pack that's not under "do not touch'' policy, please let me know! :)
Hi lamare! I hope this is the right spot for feedback on your cleaning supplies mod: I tested your mod in my heavily modded medieval game and in my light maxis match game for a few hours. MM-Game: The only conflict HCDU showed was the Cleaning Mod by simler90. It plays nice with macrotastics for the most part, although without cleaning supplies sims might take multiple baths/showers to get clean (I know, this is by design. I don't complain. Just an observation.) Medieval Game: I thought it would conflict with Laura's Water Required For Baths/Showers, but luckily it does not. Actually there weren't a lot of conflicts, but a lot of my sims use water buckets (Sun&Moon) to get clean. I suspect the mod does not recognise those. In both cases I got your mod kinda working by having your mod load last, but the cleaning supplies never ran out. So I either missed a conflict or I have not been testing long enough. Anyway: I hope you have fantastic week and thank you so much by enriching everybodys game with your work. <3
Hi Raben! Thank you so much for the report!
I looked into Simler's mod, it's washing dishes in sink that seems to conflict. I think I like what he did (time to wash dishes at the sink depends on the number of dishes, Neat personality and Cleaning skill), might incorporate some of these changes (or not)
I didn't want sims to take multiple showers to get clean, but rather to accept being almost clean and go about their day. Does it happen only when you use macro on them? If not, maybe I should increase the limit a bit
Yeah, custom cleaning/washing interactions might not pick up the mod
Hi Lamare! There seems to be a clothing pile missing in the Simple Laundry Mod files. In the preview images at MTS, there are 4 different laundry piles shown, but one of them - "Clothing pile (2)", the tall one - is not in the rar. I also wanted to ask about the recolors of the piles: I made the piles buyable with the object relocator so I can use them to decorate if I want to, but only the flat clothing pile is recolorable. Do you know why that could be and how to fix that?
Hi! The tall pile is there, itβs one of the models of the main pile object, mostly used for wet state
I made them non-recolorable, because their textures are randomized on creation in game, this feature doesnβt recognize design too recolors, so it was easier to not make them
I love this dish soap, it's so well made π Been making an empty state for it
and testing some new ideas...
UGH can you guys go one test run without BS?
There's another one:
Shower Caddy conveniently having the right subsets for this π
I am loving your cleaning supplies mod! I am wondering if there would be an option to have a small pop up in the corner alerting you when you have run out of something?
Thanks for all your work :)
Yay! π
There is a popup, but only if it was the last item of its type, because it doesn't matter that one item is used up if you have more. Wouldn't want to spam with notifs!
hi lamare! Is it possible to make mods that allow sina open home business in their "apartment lot" ? I know there already mods that allow community and apartment in the same lot so the sims can shopping etc in the 1st floor and have their apartment in the next floor, what i meant is the mods that really allow sims to open home business like in residential lot, but in this case to allow it at apartment lot.
Thank you :)
Hi! I donβt see why not, apart from the fact that apartment lots are easy to upset as it is, so I wouldnβt want to try it. But, who knows
Hi there! Would it ever be possible to port the orangutans from The Sims Castaway? Since they kind of share the same engine, to an extent. I feel like I read on a forum once that they were cloned from the female sim base like code wise? Or maybe using the penguin from seasons as a base could kinda work also?
Thanks for your time and creations !
hey! No idea π
Hi Lamare. Really excited about your cleaning supplies mod. How difficult is it to edit objects to make them work with your mod? Is it something I can do myself or will that be too difficult? Since there are lots of cute clutter and I want to make a lot of them usable even if they don't match the theme. I think with mods like these this is the best option so everyone can make the necessary edits to their own game. Thanks for taking the time to read this and making so many cool mods
Hi! Yeah, itβs gonna be easy enough for people to edit objects. Iβm not releasing a tutorial just yet, want to keep it in testing some more and possibly arrive at an even better technical solution
Hi, I wanted to write that in the comments of your post, but tumblr wouldn't let me. I have some meshes of hygiene products that would great with the addition of the Laundry mod: Body Cleansers: https://modthesims.info/d/641083/body-cleansers-made-functional-updated.html Cleaning products: https://modthesims.info/d/641847/household-cleaners-that-really-clean.html Deodorant: https://deedee-sims.tumblr.com/post/625091628094373888/functional-deodorant-i-admit-i-got-this-idea-when Pads: https://creesims.tumblr.com/post/615201878695886849/linacheries-4t2-simlish-pads-made-functional-i
Hi! Thanks for the links! I've seen some of these, and I've been having doubts about adding them. Wouldn't it kind of undermine their original function? (Ok I did use the dish soap model, 'cause it's so good I couldn't)
Hi again! I love the idea of sims having to buy certain things like detergent in order to wash clothes or having benefits and penalties (like cleaning going faster with supplies). I was thinking more along the lines of what you mentioned in your reblog - things will get empty*, so they don't work anymore and you get no benefits from them, but the empty object remains where it is, and once you click on the storage/container/shelf object you mentioned to refill things, they get filled up and are functional again, but the object itself never leaves its place.
(*I wasn't even thinking about the objects actually looking empty, it's amazing that you plan to do that, but since you mentioned that there will be a notification that tells you when an object is empty, you would know anyway, even if the object always looks/stays the same).
In short, I love the concept and gameplay aspects of this mod, but I don't love the idea of redecorating and messing around with OMSPs and so on every time an object is used up haha.
Hey, thanks for ur input, really helps to flesh out the ideas
You donβt have to replace all the household clutter with functional modded items, you can have as little as ONE functional object on the lot - sims will subtract points from it, and all your carefully placed decor will stay in place forever
Besides, there are more bathroom clutter than I could possibly edit in a lifetime, so 99% of the existing cute deco will remain just deco anyway π
