@lanqin asked: “ you deserve someone who isn’t okay with losing you. “
HEARING THAT TUGS ON THE STRINGS OF HIS HEART. Makes him feel soft and maybe a little sad. Wangji still had a hard time grasping how deeply he felt for him. Astonishing, truly. considering everything they’ve done together. The fact they eloped— they married, and swore themselves to one another. But he’d never dare admonish him for it. He still hard a hard time believing how much wangji loved him in turn. How long he’d loved, and how little he expected. He’d of waited forever, wuxian thinks, forever. It makes his heart clench, makes him feel like a fool.
“ Oh…lan zhan. ” he coos softly, leaning forward, hands coming to either side of his husband’s beautiful face. “ Lan zhan lan zhan… ” brushing their noses together. The palm of one hand gliding back so he can toy with the ribbon that flows with the silky waves of wangji’s hair. “ What’s this all about hm? Losing me? ” his tone soft. “ Who says you will huh? You’re stuck with me, forever. This life, and the next. ” planting a peck against his husbands mouth. “ No matter what I am, what you are— a fish, a frog, a tree. I’m going to find you. In every life. It doesn’t matter if you are or not. I wont let you have that choice. Forever, and ever, lan zhan, you’ll never be rid of me. ”
it couldn't be helped, being this worried about wèi wúxiàn's thoughts wandering into darker avenues. lán wàngjī knows his husband, he knows the way his brow frowns when grief and regret take over that brilliant mind of his. and lán wàngjī cannot bear it, his chest hurts at the mere thought and words suddenly become plentiful at even the most minuscule tints of sadness passing through the demonic cultivator's face.
a deep hum vibrates in the back of his throat as his golden eyes close, soaking in every touch and kiss wèi wúxiàn has to offer him. and if wèi wúxiàn wished to drown him in his affections then this may as well be the demise of hánguāng-jūn. the sweetest denouement of them all.
“ i never wish to be without wèi yīng. ” lán wàngjī retorts soberly, rejecting the possibility of no longer being by his side almost by instinct. it is in his nature, ingrained deep in his soul, to love wèi wúxiàn evermore.
