Sorry if I don’t take the Gryffindors’ role as righteous saviors of social equality all that seriously—it’s just that the whole “we care about Muggle-borns” thing rings a bit hollow when they still keep house-elves enslaved, talk about Muggles like they’re unevolved humans, and hold all sorts of prejudices toward half-humans to varying degrees. Makes me think they’re not really fighting for equality, but rather trying to preserve their own status quo and political interests. They don’t want social change—they just don’t want their political opponents to win the war. They can’t even be bothered to reflect on or deconstruct their own privilege.

Like, Harry James Potter literally ends up being the magical equivalent of a damn MI6 agent. If you’re going to talk about Nazis, fascism, and that kind of stuff, please do it in a series where the protagonist doesn’t end his story daydreaming about how nice it’ll be to have his house-elf serve him when he gets home. Thanks.

But isn’t that the whole society? All wizards are potrayed like that tho so there should be other merits on how to divide the good guys and the bad guys.

I headcanon Narcissa as the most magically powerful of the three sisters just cuz I can. She didn’t choose to be a fighter, instead she dedicated herself to the traditional life. But her power was the largest but her secretive self hid it.

I am not saying everyone should believe in canon bellamort (even tho it's canon) but some people's reasoning against it is hilarious, my personal favorite is:

"but she had a husband!?!"

Even if you look past the obvious fact that people do in fact cheat in a lot of times,

What the hell Rodolphus could have done about it anyway? Complain about it to his boss?

Oh well...shit situation lmao

It's not canon but I agree with the rest

I honestly love the fics where Tom gets Harry's affection and he's like "ok, no more evil. I want to be loved now".

And then he messes up, Harry leaves the situation, and Tom is like "evil again lol (with a grudge against my ex!!)".

And then Harry gets back to him and... The circle is neverending.

Moral chain? Harry is like the difference between "evil wannabe dictator" and "evil wannabe dictator more interested in his bf than in world domination"

Harry's an introvert but people conflate that with being shy and/or a loser 🤔. They are not the same thing at all. Harry isn't shy or a loser, he just doesn't like to talk much! He also doesn't have low self esteem, he has low self perception. Again, different things.

He doesn't think he's super amazing at magic but he doesn't denigrate himself for it, he's not obsessed about it, he's still confident when making his plans and doing his things that he can reasonably achieve what he wants to. Sometimes he expects to fail and does it anyway, this is not the action of a shy, hesitant or un-confident person.

I can’t imagine Snily ever happening.

No, disliking Bellamort or preferring other ships is not misogynistic. I swear, people will call you a misogynist if you don't ship a woman with a man just because she's madly in love and devoted. That's actually misogynistic - the idea that a ship should be canon just because one party is a woman deeply in love with the other, male, character.

Give me other women to ship Voldemort with who provide a more interesting, less stagnant dynamic, and I'll happily ship it. I ship Voldemort with Harry because they're narrative mirrors who literally share a soul, which to me is very romantic and compelling. I also ship Voldemort with Dumbledore because they're opposites yet share significant similarities, who are magical and intellectual equals as well. And I ship Voldemort with human Nagini because I believe she was the only one he felt safe and fully comfortable around in canon, and because Nagini also shares his soul.

But Bellatrix? Who doesn't have any mystical or narrative pull towards Voldemort? Who isn't his equal, never challenges him, and is completely devoted, nodding to almost everything he says? I understand some people might enjoy this dynamic, but I personally don't. I also don't appreciate it when others call me misogynistic for disliking it, because that's simply ridiculous - a pathetic attempt to discredit people's subjective opinions and personal taste in fiction. I don’t like this ship and prefer other, not because Bellatrix is a woman, but because she is not the type of person I enjoy having in a romantic dynamic with Voldemort.
