Hey, that's my book, Failure to Comply!

Cavar's Failure to Comply is an abolitionist text concerned with trans, disabled, and Mad liberation as a speculative art.

Every story has its fugitives. “I,” a deviant self-hacker with three arms, two stomachs, and no name, is on the run from RSCH, a high-tech, authoritarian government that mandates wellness and carves the contours of truth itself. When I is kidnapped at axe-point to be mined for forbidden memories, they must struggle against RSCH’s medical abuse to recapture their history, reunite with their lover, and rewrite their future—or risk remaining Patient forever.

I crosses an epistolary, time-flipped dreamscape as they recollect their memories from RSCH’s hungry archive, and, in the process, write the story of their liberation.

so many psych diagnoses work as post-hoc forms of gender (re)assignment, not in a literal way but in an interpersonal one - for obvious examples: borderline pd indexing a violent excess of 'femininity,' aspd a violent excess of 'masculinity'. the gendering of "types" of autism likewise make it convenient to assert intrinsic "neurological" roots for gendered behavior, a kind of gotcha against the increasing consensus that, um, that's (neurological gendered behavior) obviously not a thing.

now that the stereotype of autistics as hyper-rational, emotionless, and rigid has been done to death and thoroughly disproven, there needs to be some way to integrate this growing wave of late dx'd autistics who are or were once women/girls into a framework that clings so desperately to binary gender as its own diagnostic logic

see also: the idea parroted even by some 'progressives' that 'obviously so many autistic people are trans bc autism is intrinsically linked to Gender/Sexual Deviance'

like it's fucking bonkers reading a book on autism where the author has to be like "if you don't tend to relate to how autism is described, try reading into female autism. even if you're a man". what use does any of this serve at this point

I said this in the tags of a different post but for the most part what people imagine as "female autism" would more accurately be described as "autistic traits that have been shaped by the social pressure to fawn" (which is commonly applied to women, but also to other marginalised groups). but that's only insofar as actual differences are present. you also have to come to terms with the fact that it's also "autistic traits that aren't identified as such because 'autism' was constructed with white boys in mind, and this lack of identification can inform the way a person develops". but it really is not useful to condense that down into a biologically essentialist "male brain vs female brain" talking point

Well you see minors under 25 years old should not be allowed to get gender reassignment surgery because what if they go to the clinic but instead of giving them a normal penis the nurses mess up and give them the evil penis. That's irreversible
