Milwaukee and Damen, 1988, Chicago. Jeff Wassmann
Last weekend, the better-half and I revisited the classic film Some Like it Hot, starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis; written and directed by Billy Wilder, 1959.
I was surprised to be reminded that the opening scenes take place in 1929 Chicago. It's worth a watch, as a thinly veiled St. Valentine's Day Massacre is the catalyst for the protagonists to leave Chicago and head to Miami , disguised as women, with an all-girl jazz band.
Though convincing, the opening scenes were obviously shot on a sound stage in Los Angeles; however, there are many Chicago references, including the 'L', Clark Street, our winters, speakeasies and the vaudeville scene.
Chicago's Hood Internet presents this mash up of Justin Timberlake's Suit and Tie with the 15 second teaser from Daft Punk's new album.
Funky!!!!
