they’re just making shit up like i’m sorryyy 😭 they have no idea what to do with any of the adults. people die randomly and unceremoniously. and with the teens why did they time jump to skip the winter?? and nobody else has died?? why do they have all the interesting stuff happen off screen. i don’t even want to be a hater like i literally wish yj was good but it’s NAWT i have to live my truth on this.

many know i have beef with yellowjackets for feeling generally pretty inauthentic. like to me a lot of the time it feels trying too hard to feel subversive and it’s sooo heavy handed (teenage lesbians doing cannibalism in the woods to 1990s alt rock needle drops like come onnnnn). but i have been told this is something that really only bothers me so 😭 idk. i think the premise is a good idea, theres stuff about it that still interests me for sure. i thought season 1 was fun (though it began to lose me at the end), but season 2 really went off the rails and the adult timeline feels completely improvised and nonsensical to me, which is sad!! because that could literally be the most interesting part. i guess in general i wish they had taken the idea in a completely different direction. and if it’s GOING to be this off the deep end, i wish it would lean into being ridiculous instead of taking itself this seriously.
