I’ve been pretty down so I decided to draw myself getting hug by one of my current favourite characters.
You call it cringe I call it artistic freedom.
I didn’t put this in the post on Bluesky but I really wanted to just use this art to vent about how I felt but instead I just can’t bring myself to be angry no more😭😂😂

With Fourth World Week coming up, I figured it's a great time to unveil something I've been working on. So without further ado-
It's a little sparse right now, but I had to start with New Gods! I have fabric patches for some of our heroes, plus a metal Orion bookmark based on art from New Gods #1 (2024)!
As a special incentive, 25% of this round of sales will go towards funding the Jack Kirby Museum's Collections Website!
But! This is a trial run, so be aware that the items you see will only be available now through April 12 when Fourth World Week ends, at which point the store will go on pause while I work on orders. After that I'd like to experiment with designs, try out different types of products, and expand to include other DC characters. But hey if these do really well, you might see them again some day.
Please note! There will be imperfections. Everything you see right now is created with hand-carved rubber stamps. The results might not be as sleek and flawless as digital art or professionally machined products, but I've really been digging the handmade aspect. It's been fun getting back to my DIY roots, so I hope that despite the lack polish, you enjoy these too.

This ended up being much longer than I thought hahahah. English is not my first language.
Okay, I'm just rambling here.
But can we think about good old Ben, please? It's like, this guy has a rock body, but not a rock heart.
So, sometimes I have this scenario in mind where Ben saves someone in the middle of these global disasters over the weekend. And this person just sees Ben and says.
“Woaw, this really is a strong guy. Just the kind Mom said is worth it.”
And she's like, too thrilled for him. But Ben has always had this self-esteem issue about his looks (Because, God, he really did call himself “The Thing”). So he's really in doubt as to whether this is some sick joke or one of those cruel schemes of his recurring villains.
I imagine the 4F are really confused about it. Johnny makes jokes about it like “Hey, are you sure she's not blind?” But he's really happy/concerned about it.
Sue has her doubts at the beginning, especially since I'm thinking of someone really intense here, but she manages to accept you as that person who finally sees everything she sees in Ben, and the fact that you really like the way she looks is a good point for her.
And Reed I can imagine him being a little more… distant? Like, the guy is so preoccupied developing those super complicated science things that he likes that he's not really too aware of it.
All until Sue mentions it to him in one of those late night chats and it's like all the neurons in his head connect in a “Oh, I knew there was something different but I didn't know recognize what.”
And Sue is just mentally slapping him in the face because, the smartest man on the planet has an emotional/empathic dullness.
Maybe this is focused in a timeline/universe where Ben already had a relationship with Alicia and has felt loved for how he is, but still doesn't feel fully loved for how he looks (yet, because from what I've seen his relationship with Alicia is really nice and good for him). So he's internally terrified because this is new to him, because someone doesn't see him as “The Thing”, but how:
“This really handsome, educated man who looks like he can hold me in his arms for an entire fight with Doctor Doom and still make me feel protected and give me the confidence to say nice things in his ear.”
And this isn't a made-up line of his, but something you literally said when you thought he wasn't listening (if he was).
So Ben at the beginning decides to keep his distance, I mean, they shouldn't even meet because he is almost every day in another universe, fighting Galactus or taming beings similar to Cthulhu himself.
OR SO HE HOPED
Because he finds you every damn time, and you convince him to go on a date and…. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO HIM WHY THEY'RE AT THE ALTAR?
Someone help this poor guy, because there won't be a day in his life when he won't be told about what a beautiful sculpture he is, or how thank the lord that Michelangelo is dead, because if he were to revive he would die of rage to know that there is such a magnificent living work of art and it's not his.
I imagine that he would even have the audacity to go to art classes to be able to… I don't know, give more accurate opinions about it, use references or even… help him with other things?
Yeah, I just wanted to get this out of my brain, and if I think about it, then so do you.
I apologize if this all seems too different from the canon personality of the characters. Truthfully everything I know about the 4F I know from their interactions with mutants hahaha.

They are organizing to eject thousands of students from dorms, LEAVING THEM HOMELESS.
They are using every piece of identifying technology to arrest students.
They are STRAIGHT UP SHOOTING students with plastic bullets which DO CAUSE as much damage as real ones.
They are throwing metal GAS TUBES on barely legal teens.
They are chasing MY FRIENDS FOR KILOMETERS WITH BLUDGEONS TO BEAT THEM.
I have been getting bombarded with the news of so many of my friends getting seriously injured; chased and beaten by the police, classmates asking for advice on NONSTOP PAIN because of ORANGE GAS RAINING DOWN ON THEM.
There is fear. There is only fear and hope. They are the incitors of terror and they call us terrorists. There is an active war in Turkey and they declared us the enemy.

This is a real story that happened to us. In January, a UN delegation came to our street. They didn’t help us. They have a few families on a list and they ignore everyone else. They ate fruits and snacks and drank mineral whatever in front of starving people who only have contaminated water to drink. People tried to talk to them, to tell them their stories, to ask for help, but they were dismissed.
This is why we have to rely on this campaign. No organization has ever helped my family. We only have ourselves and kind strangers who give us money. Please don’t let us down now. The war is back. Prices have skyrocketed. My soul and my hope are dying.
We’re so close to the final goal! Please, I want to be done with this so I can focus on my new semester without additional stress. I don’t know what I’ll do after, but for now, I want it to be done. I’m exhausted.
