a brazilian f1 commentator made racist and transphobic comments towards a congresswoman couple days ago. in less than three days, following pressure from people online - including some of the largest f1 accounts on twitter who posted the same message criticizing him, demanding action and calling out sponsors - the broadcaster removed him from air and he has been replaced during testing.

In Yas Marina, he is in the car in FP1 when we tell him that we have to change the battery and that it will cost him a 10-place grid penalty. He gets out of the car, says nothing. When he left the garage after missing 30 minutes of FP1, it was to do the best time. That's Charles, he knows it's dead for the weekend, but he keeps an absolute hunger. He started from the back of the grid but he told us that he was going to go back up. And he went up (P3). Charles, it's not the guy who says, but the guy who does. He constantly asked for everyone's position to get an idea of the points and the evolution of the situation. This hunger was more focused on the team and the mechanics than him. If Charles has such support within the Scuderia, there is no need to wonder why."
