Jesus wasn’t Black. He was a Jew who had olive toned skin and curly hair like that of Gene Wilder; a “Jew ‘fro.” It’s not that no one wants Him to be Black, He simply isn’t.

A generation later, the films of Pixar have a consistent message: that “humanity does not have a monopoly on personhood”. Think about the opening of WALL-E, wordlessly drawing you into the life of the title character. As is pointed out in the linked essay, in almost all Pixar movies, sentient non-human protagonists (uplifted animals, robots, other species…) team up with humans to together accomplish something that each group couldn’t accomplish alone. A generation of humans is being prepared to peaceably and productively co-exist with non-human intelligences.
