ty~hope you enjoy! Set four years before in the face of all that isn't yet begins. (One year before Anakin presents.)

Anakin isn't invited to spar with Obi-Wan. The man avoids him like Anakin is ground zero for some hideously infectious disease—and he'd have to be pretty karking stupid not to have realized that at some point over the last seven years.

And he's a lot of things, most of which are tallied and catalogued for critique in the Temple, but stupid isn’t one of them.

Obi-Wan’s problem is more with Qui-Gon than with Anakin—but Anakin is…

Well. Anakin knows what he is to Obi-Wan: a wound. A reminder. Proof that he'd been shoved from the nest too early for all that Qui-Gon insists he was ready for knighthood. It's bitter medicine, and Obi-Wan can’t quite hide how his gaze purposefully glides past Anakin whenever they’re in the same room.
