• the moment you say “i love you” to kukui, his whole face lights up. he cracks the biggest smile and picks you up, spinning you around and laughing, a bit relieved that you said it first. he places a quick kiss on your cheek, and for a moment you both feel like teenagers again, experiencing love for the first time. “pinch me if it’s a dream, cousin! you’ve made me the luckiest man in alola – no, the whole world!”
• guzma is taken a bit more off guard. he’s very bad with his emotions (working to get better), and was probably in denial about liking you in the first place. but, as soon as he sees you, blushing a bit and meeting his eyes with a hopeful expression, it hits him like a truck. he flushes and looks away. “ah shit, guess i’m kinda stupid after all, not havin’ noticed how i felt about ya. i… love ya too, okay? d-don’t make me say it again.”
• dulse, of course, is new to experiencing emotions as humans feel them. he would never pick up on the signs that you had deeper feelings for him, until you tell him flatly to his face. he is taken aback, quiet for a moment as he processes what just happened in his mind.  “my heart is racing… i feel… sweaty and light. ah, this must be what you humans call love, correct? i must study this more… if you would allow me.”
• nanu feels like he might have a heart attack. he felt he was too old for love, which is why he pushed all the confusing feelings he had about you to the back of his mind. you making the first move made him feel more secure in his emotions, as he finally breathes a sigh of relief. maybe, he realizes, it’s okay for him to be a bit selfish. “you would really go for an old man like me? tch, you’re as stupid as i thought, kid. well… i guess i’m a fool too, because i feel the same.”
• poor kiawe’s whole body heats up, he’s used to the heat of his trial, but of a love confession? he quickly loses his cool, stuttering and blushing as he grabs your shoulders and starts yelling out: “y-you really love me? i’m… so happy… sorry i’m being a little awkward but… this hasn’t happened to me before so… just know that i love you too.”
• gladion is quite shy, turning a million shades of red and almost jumping out of his skin. he tells you not to tease him like that, and you have to reassure him many times that you’re not kidding! after it finally sinks in, he’d laugh a little bit, a real smile gracing his features. “i’ve been meaning to tell you for the longest time thank you for everything you’ve done for me… this is embarrassing… but… i like you too.”
• the usually excited, happy hau somehow looks like he has stars in his eyes when you nervously confess to him. he grabs your hands and gives you a big hug. “this definitely beats the day i became kahuna… and when i was champion for an hour! i think we should go out for malasadas to celebrate! oh, and of course, i love you too!”
