spoilers for Pokemon Horizons up to episode 75 about one thing that slightly disappointed me
Ok it really surprised me and now it looks quite silly, even though I know it's not like Pokemon anime is supposed to be very serious or something, but the whole build-up around Lucius, the "ancient" pokeballs - where in our world ancient means older than 1500 years, the clothes the man wears looking like straight outta some high fantasy larp, one of his partners being a pokemon species that's super rare in present day but used to be easier to find in the past, all of this made me believe that Lucius lived hundreds or thousands of years ago. But then it is revealed that those events were literally just one hundred years ago, or four generations ago. That's... Really kinda weird, and stole some of the charm from the plot to me personally :(
But then, there were many episodes released since which I haven't seen yet, maybe the charm will be back idk I'm still watching
