Can I draw fanart of one of your fics? - Sure! I just ask that, if you're going to share it, you do it publically and not behind some kind of paywall (i.e. Patreon). I really don't feel comfortable with other people profting of something that was based on my free work.

I love Sirius Black any way I can have him. I love him tall or short; muscled or dainty; fem or masc; trans, cis, nonbinary; brooding or wild; hairy like a yeti or slippery and hairless like a baby seal. He can be anything.

But I will never EVER! accept that he’s anything other than brilliant.

Sirius Black is clever and resourceful and brave as hell, and don’t you ever forget it.

the question of fic comments is very straightforward actually. readers do not owe writers comments. writers do not owe readers fic. there is no bargain, no transaction, no debt.

fic is a gift. comments are a gift. gifts are exchanged between friends, out of love, not out of obligation.

I write for myself. I post it for others, as a gift, because their joy brings me joy. I read for myself. I comment for the author, as a gift, because their joy brings me joy. perhaps we were not friends before, but we are now, however fleetingly, because we have given each other gifts out of love.

✨ March Reading Wrap-Up ✨

Another month of graphs. Except I missed February, so maybe I'll make a February reading wrap up, lol. Anyway!

March was a bad month at work, so I only read 8 completed fics and 1 wip for a total of 207,072 words, 8 wolfstar and 1 wolfstarbucks (for some spice).

The Fics in Question

Rumspringa by @lifeisabitch-butimcute is the loveliest WIP, seriously it's like it was written for me. Amish Remus and southern Sirius, it's made me cry multiple times, 10/10 for inclusion of horses

The Inconveniences in our Favour by @magicbeings with artist Sirius and bookshop owner Remus who also just happens to be my favourite flavour of quippy

The Panini Incident by ravenclawesome42 a coffee shop au enemies to lovers that harnesses lovely canon marauders energy (read: pranks)

It Often Rhymes by bshiat friends to lovers with some very tender wolfstar moments that made me Feel things

Aisles by okayyhmm muggle au set in tesco's which felt just delightfully 'real life'

Why not Me? by mimifreed a lovely lovely friends to lovers wolfstar with such a satisfying ending, like i actually think it healed some of my wolfstar-induced trauma

Lateral Thinking by sadspatula had such wonderful cadence and pacing and really hit my slice of life craving

Of Earth and Electric Storms by @wolfpants I think I will forever be thinking about the line: "Because he wanted Sirius first. (He had wanted Sirius for a long time). // He wanted Remus first. (He had wanted Remus instantly)."

AND FINALLY

For Freedom, Beauty, Truth, and Love by @b1ackcatchatsback which I am actually still reading, and which made me laugh out loud multiple times, and which currently has me kicking my feet

hi, a lot of you need a perspective reset

  • the average human lifespan globally is 70+ years
  • taking the threshold of adulthood as 18, you are likely to spend at least 52 years as a fully grown adult
  • at the age of 30 you have lived less than one quarter of your adult life (12/52 years)
  • 'middle age' is typically considered to be between 45-65
  • it is extremely common to switch careers, start new relationships, emigrate, go to college for the first or second time, or make other life-changing decisions in middle age
  • it's wild that I even have to spell it out, but older adults (60+) still have social lives and hobbies and interests.
  • you can still date when you get old. you can still fuck. you can still learn new skills, be fashionable, be competitive. you can still gossip, you can still travel, you can still read. you can still transition. you can still come out.
  • young doesn't mean peaked. you're inexperienced in your 20s! you're still learning and practicing! you're developing social skills and muscle memory that will last decades!
  • there are a million things to do in the world, and they don't vanish overnight because an imaginary number gets too big

Okay, so I'd loooove to share a piece of what I've been working on for @moonyfest because I am LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND over it (I don't think I've been this obsessed with writing something since I wrote the Mr. Wolf fic) BUT SINCE I CAN'T – because it's an annonymous fest – you all can have this little snippet of my @maraudersromcomfest fic, which should be posting in June.

“Oh, it’s been crazy. I’ve been getting letters by the ton, and Teddy is absolutely obsessed with them,” Remus says, laughing. “I know he means well, he just wants to see me happy. Somehow, he’s gotten it into his head that happiness equals dating someone. I blame all the films he’s been watching.” “Any letter that caught your attention?” Sirius asks, playful. “Nah, I don’t really read them,” Remus shrugs. “Like I told Teddy, I don’t think that’s how dating works.” Sirius’ smirk lingers. “And how does it work?” Like this.  The thought comes so naturally that it startles Remus. It solidifies in Remus’ mind like it’s obvious, but he dismisses it just as quickly. It’s obviously not like this – this is an interview, after all, a professional affair. And he barely even knows this man; that is, beyond the fragments he has chosen to share. Even if Sirius were single, even if he were interested in men, there’s nothing to say he’d be interested in Remus. But if it doesn’t work like this – if it’s not about meeting someone, feeling a connection, allowing yourself to see where it leads – then what other answer is there? Remus exhales. “Oh, I don’t know. I haven’t done the dating thing in over a decade, so I’m hardly an expert,” he says, laughing, though it comes out more self-deprecating than he intends. “And, to be honest, I’m not even sure I want to date. Teddy might have jumped the gun on that one.” And maybe it’s wishful thinking – or straight up madness – but he’s certain that, for a second, he sees a flicker of disappointment in Sirius’ eyes.
