Does anyone have any drawing tips for drawing Adler? I've been trying for ages yet he just comes out on the paper looking like a potato with hair. Idk what it is but I just struggle drawing him so if anyone has any tips for me I'd appreciate it so much.

More Adler thoughts.

Where did the nickname America's Monster come from?

I haven't seen it specified anywhere regarding how he got this nickname other then his peers giving him the name. Not to mention I don't think I've once ever actually seen any of the team explicitly call him America's Monster or mention it unless I missed that bit somewhere.

I think with his manipulation skills and his overall ruthlessness on the field it may warrant the nickname with his reputation but I wonder where it actually originated from. What was it explicitly that he did to earn the title?

I have a couple of theories on how he got the nickname

I think it could have from something to do with Perseus most likely back in the 1960s when he was in Vietnam hunting him down the first time. It's obvious Adler has a hatred for Perseus and most likely as he continued hunting him down in Vietnam I'd imagine he'd get more and more annoyed that Perseus kept evading him that he'd start to resort to more violent and extreme measures to get the information and intel he needed to stop him. But other people saw it and thought he was getting pretty gruesome just to find the guy and gave him the nickname perhaps?

Another theory is with his work on Separation in the 70s. The drug causes induced schizophrenia for any of the subjects and just like with Bell and MK-Ultra, Adler manipulated their memories to get what he wanted no matter how painful or traumatic the whole experience was for Bell or the other subject exposed to this. But for Adler he was doing a job, and he most likely didn't care enough about the suffering he was causing in the process causing others to label him as America's Monster.

Either way the title most likely came from something brutal he did, he didn't just earn the title for nothing. But I feel like either his work in Vietnam or Separation could have contributed or possibly earned him the nickname.

I did have another theory but I'm not sure on it tbh I thought maybe after he got his scar some people could look at him as though he looks like some kind of monster and give him the nickname but I'm not too sure about that one.

Even then, as I mentioned, I've never heard anyone explicitly call Adler by that title to his face or others. Maybe he dislikes the nickname because of whatever memory or thing he did its accociated with it. Although, at the same time, given his reputation that he doesn't seem to hide, I can't see him being opposed or guilty about whatever he did to earn that title. I could probably see some of the other guys at the CIA using it to scare the rookies, specifically Woods, maybe.

Your home analysis of Adler made me wonder…what if he had a little furry friend who visits him occasionally? I don’t think he’d keep a pet because he’s away from home for long periods of time often. But what if there was a stray cat or dog who wondered into his apartment complex and tends to hang out by his door? I think an outdoor cat would suit Adler perfectly; they’d mirror each other. The cat saunters into his home and comes and enjoys itself for a while (maybe even hustle a few treats out of him) and leaves when it’s time for it to set out on another adventure. Adler comes and goes at his home because of his job, but enjoys a rare moment of quiet. I think that’s really cute! What are your opinions on this? :) Hmmm how do you think he’d be with a stray dog?

Assuming he lives on one of the top floors, I doubt a cat could climb to the eighth or ninth floor. Perhaps he'd encounter stray animals, but I think they wouldn't care much. Also, as far as I know, in the United States, people spend all day in cars getting around, so I doubt he'd encounter animals like dogs or cats. Perhaps if a neighbor had a pet, he'd greet it and pet it, but nothing more. Those are my impressions.

Bruce Thomas confirming once again that Adler’s ex wife is the love of his life. We love a war criminal with a hard hitting divorce and hefty emotional baggage under his belt don’t we bffs?

You know what I really want if I’m being real?

I actually want them to develop Adler’s character. Because we’ve already seen the stoic, stone cold, emotionless sort of man that we fell in love with regardless. We know he’s that guy. We know he’s the baddest. But are they actually going to give us more to work with? Will they develop who he is as a person or are they going to keep it monotonous? Are they going to show us his human side? Something? Anything? Please? So many of us have busted our asses trying to further develop a somewhat realistic personality for him. Please give us something. They did it for the modern warfare boys. Give us more back story. Tell us more about his ex wife. Anything. They know he’s a fan favourite if they’re smart they would.

Bueno, nos dieron su lado mas cínico y bromista. Algo es algo...

I just listened to the Bruce Thomas (Russell Adler's VA,) interview. It was honestly so refreshing to see this man give us Adler info in the context of him never playing the game. I figure I should share some of Bruce's ideas and opinions.

• He pictures Speed McQueen when he is in the booth.

• Bruce thought Adler having an Ex-wife was a lie, and was surprised to find out he possibly has kids.

• He does not know how Adler got his scar.

• LOVES his team, he has a deep connection with Sims.

• One of his favorite lines was "It was never Personal."

• Russell does not live with regrets and never sees what he does is wrong.

•Bruce/Adler has always seen Bell as a "player."

Important to note: Bruce loves the community and loves his fans deeply so he may not have all the answers to people's questions.

I love this guys

headcanon: the reason adler is so ripped in bo6 is because of his time spent in relative isolation while on the run. exercise was a way to pass the time, especially while holed up in the rook.

In my books, this is canon

Evidence Board - Payback Map

I was poking around the Payback map in a Private Match and saw this on the evidence board. If this is in the campaign I didn’t notice it and I haven’t seen anyone post it (which ofc doesn’t mean no one else has lol). But I thought it was fun.

The letter says:

British Secret Intelligence Service

STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL February 4, 1991

Helen Park

Military Intelligence, Section 6

London, United Kingdom

To Russell Adler:

Aren't you a wanted man? Despite my reservations, I've made an arrangement with the SAS. Captain Gladney is well respected and congenial enough, but he can smell a rotting fish a kilometer away. I advise you to arrive on site with a calm head and volunteer as little as possible. I'm sure you have it in you. Cautiously optimistic to meet your new entourage. Whoever they are, I hope they understand what they're getting into.

Sincerely,

Helen Park
