Still thinking about the Rebirth ending and all the theories people have. I personally like the theory that the Zack parts are actually him in the lifestream, but there are holes in that theory.
Why are Marlene, Elmyra, and Kyrie there? They aren't dead. Biggs being there can make sense, because maybe he doesn't accept that he's dead yet?? There are other questions I have, like how they showed Tifa, Barret, and Red XIII at the beginning (and Red was shown to be conscious for a moment as he helped take the helicopter down).
On the other hand there are a lot of holes in the alternate timeline theory as well, that I feel people aren't really addressing. One of the biggest ones is Marlene. Marlene knows Cloud and Aerith. Aerith saved her and she saw her future just like in the Beagle world. But how would that make sense if it was an alternate timeline where Cloud was with Zack the whole time?
Without Cloud wandering off to Midgar, meeting and helping Avalanche, then meeting Aerith, there would be no way Marlene would have met Aerith. Aerith never would have left Sector 5 and she wouldn't have met Tifa or Barret or any of Avalanche. Therefore she wouldn't have saved Marlene.
Elmyra and Kyrie don't seem to recognize Cloud (as far as I can tell at least), so it's just Marlene and Biggs (but Biggs is from the Beagle world).
I think both theories have valid points, but also have their mysteries and things that don't add up. I have so many questions, but I'm curious to see what happens in Part 3!
