i know a lot of people complain with "lack of media literacy" but there's also a lot of people that don't seem to get the point of nuanced media ? in a way ? like it feels like some people want everything to have a clear good and bad, like true black and white morality when in reality our very world falls into a grey area most of the time, so why not fiction ?

i've seen people complain about media with characters that are just assholes, like just bad people and it's the point of the story but some people were like "why would anyone watch that, that's so disgusting, you have to be sick to indulge in that kind of media" and like ? it was about a story ABOUT bad people making fun of them like it was a satire about it, the story made fun of people acting this way

so that's a really strange thing i noticed

The problem with commercial F/M romance is that it's written by the most heterosexual women alive and reading it you feel yourself slowly suffocating from the Gender of it all like a fish in a eutrophying lake. And what we actually need as a culture is F/M written by insane bisexuals violently allergic to heteronormativity

i think it's a bit funny that most girls i've talked to IRL were true crime girlie but in a "oh you probably think i'm weird but i watch these youtubers" (and often not very present on fandom side of the internet so that was probably the weirdest thing they were doing) and im just like dw i've seen way worse in my everyday life on the internet you have no idea
