Hi, I'm RJ (Male, 28 years old) I'm a -usually- horror oriented artist and collaborator alongside my partner and better-half @barbatusart, though I'm currently on a Baldur's Gate 3/DnD streak with both my art and writing, specifically centered around the Dark Urge I created for my campaign and his antics, so that's most of what you will find here!

I want to leave a warning right here that I occasionally venture into delicate topics in regards to character lore and history - though none of it strays too far from what the game already delves into and I try to give a heads-up ahead of time whenever I feel like something might catch someone off-guard otherwise.

A slightly more serious elaboration on the last ask: If I HAD to come up with a lore reason why Bhaal chose to put DU in the underdark, it would be because he actually slouched off several pieces of himself throughout Faerun. Those pieces grew into different mirrors of their environments but all failed their quest (in other words, died) before they could learn of their heritage, and by the time DU drow arrived at the temple, he was the only one left, proving his resilience in his father's cruel arm's race unbeknownst to himself.

I like this theory because it harkens to the way Bhaal had a penchant for spreading his, uh, seed throughout different races and regions in BG lore. It also leaves a little door open for the existence of simultaneous "Dark Urges" for whenever I decide to humor that possibility!

I feel like this question can be more accurately answered not by character lore, but by a dramatization of the real life events that took place sometime in late 2023:

"Oh boy here I go play this Totally Legal Copy of the video game Balder Gates 3, but for only exactly the amount of time that it takes until I can find and pet a talking cat, and not a minute longer."

I'm not sure if there was a third part to this ask that would have added more context, if there was, I didn't receive it. Unfortunately, I'm not totally sure what this is in reference to - is it about DU drow's perception of mothers and preference towards femininity? Is it about Fem Astarion and Corellon's Blessing (which I didn't invent, if that wasn't clear)? I know you cited cissexist language, but I think I have generally used the terms "sex" and "gender" appropriately. If I slipped at some point, I do apologize, and feel free to point out to me where I did that so I can correct it.

But, besides all of that, I would most of all hope everyone understands that I am one guy drawing and writing fantasy fanart for fun, and for what is comparatively still a very small and niche audience. One that is, seemingly, largely LGBT like myself and who share in a lot of common experience and language. I most certainly do not always qualify my language or word-choice as thoroughly as I could when talking about magical sex-bending or my character's, erm, reproductive interests. I like to keep things a little more casual because, generally, I assume people know where I stand and what I mean.

His penis has literally ALWAYS been there. For FREE.

It's a stylization choice! His in-game model's lip was often heavily overshadowed and appeared black. So I just draw it that way because it looks cool and it's a very noticeable trait.

Sometimes if I'm being more detailed in my rendering or drawing up-close you will see that it's actually supposed to be a dark, purpleish gray.
