tbh i wanted to like her at first because i really appreciate rude and abrasive female characters but i really thought she overstayed her welcome and she really annoyed me...i'm biased against cop/cop adjacent characters to begin with and like a cop that like Actually Abuses Her Power As A Cop Canonically like rubbed me the wrong way
i felt like towards the end the police cadets also like...just got too much handed to them. i joked with my partner often when we watched it calling rr "this copaganda ass season" LMAO

Uh i guess on topic of the tier list i have two questions:
- im curious as to why Katie's in Meh tier but Sadie's in Mixed Feelings/Neutral. Like you'd assume they'd be in the same tier and all so im wondering about the difference
- Why the Mike hate lmao what did that toothpick do to you 😭 Also is it only Mike or do you dislike the Alters also
Im asking these out of curiousity btw, usually im able to sus out why X or Y character is in Z or W tier on ppl's tier lists but im a little confused about these two

as far as katie and sadie goes they are almost the same character but there are some slight differences...this is actually a minor analysis thread that i wanted to write next but i'm still collecting all the relevant katie and sadie scenes LOL. katie's just a slight bit underhanded and meaner than sadie is, if you pay attention to their argument in the sucky outdoors (s1e6) sadie tends to bring up things katie did whereas katie will resort to insulting sadie in really petty and mean ways towards someone you'd consider a friend. it almost feels like katie keeps sadie around to make herself feel better appearance wise.
also, maybe sadie goes in "deserved better" for this, but she had the potential for a character arc about growing without katie around. it does seem like sadie is a little more dependent on katie than the other way around, but instead of exploring that they straight up ignore sadie for episodes straight until she decks courtney with apples and gets eliminated LOL
so it's a minorly slight preference for sadie because i think there's more potential for character work with her, but otherwise they ARE pretty similar
as for mike...i've never really liked his character even when roti aired. i'm generally not fond of twinky nerdy niceboy characters because they often lack substance or anything that appeals to me personally. even as much as i dislike cody and how woobified the fandom makes him out to be, i do think he at least has some interesting characterization. mike is horribly boring and boring is the worst thing you can be to me. having did is not a personality trait, and he was terrible rep for it in either season he was in. if you removed his alters from the equation he's got like...nothing going for him. and so a boring character who takes up INSANE amounts of screentime is just irritating to me...and ofc mal is the driving force for why all stars sucks so bad so.
i think i kinda like manitoba and vito, but not enough to salvage their characters from mike. i'm not against fan rewrites of mike and the alters to make them more compelling or full of depth, but that's pretty few and far between anyway and i'm just not invested enough to save his character. i think both roti and tdas would have been improved without his (and the alters') presence.

i'm not against it but honestly i'm rlly picky with polyam ships to begin with andddddd i feel like gwen (and courtney too, but specifically gwen) is VERY very monogamous + insecure with relationships so i don't see multiple partners working out...
i do also mean it when i say i like the love triangle plot for the most part in canon and i like all characters' developments towards it. i think gwuncan is the least well written part of it (the fact that they barelyyyy interact in world tour after greece kills me...and their all stars writing is...sighs) but generally i like duncney build up --> duncney off/on --> duncney breakdown and gwourtney's unlikely-friends-to-lovers approach. i think it's good for both girls to overcome their differences and past hardships wrt to the guy they both dated and to grow together
i still hc gwen and duncan as friends after total drama, like they make up at some point and agree that their lives are better as friends. duncan and courtney have an estranged kinda relationship that's bittersweet...and gwourtney's married
