WHAT DOES THIS MEAN
I know that maybe continuing to complain is too much considering the amount of fan service us Kastle fans got, but I still feel a little unsatisfied from how they misunderstood both the complexity and the simplicity of the ship, and of course by that i mean the love triangle. Yes i’m aware it was suuuper subtle, but it still held back a lot of aspects if you think about it.
This is a ship between two people hurt by love and by the act of loving. Especially for Frank, who every time he feels affection or love for someone, it’s like walking a tightrope. If Frank didn’t even want to tell Matt that Karen called him, he was definitely not going to be able to wish Karen well and safety in front of Matt—especially considering he’s said far more meaningful things to her face. Having Matt there is an excuse that even Frank and Karen instinctively use to create distance between each other, and it shows when every time frank mentions him, karen backs away on her intentions of getting closer to him.
Besides, it’s not completely about “the fan service” or the romantic tension, it’s how their relationship is also a catalyst for growth and development in their characters. With amy and curtis out of the picture for frank, and foggy out of the picture for karen, they’re the only people these two have. And we have previously seen how much of an emotional anchor karen was for frank in season one of the punisher and how frank was for karen in season 2 of daredevil. Frank brings out that fierce and strength in karen, and she brings the humanity and hope in him. Not even Matt has something like that.
I know it sounds like I want to write Matt out of his own show, but what I’m really doing is trying to point out those little details that can make Kastle a thing… so, maybe in anything punisher related? All i know is that these characters and dynamics are just way too precious for me and i believe they can be written into something fair and right where we won’t have to be reading into lines.

frank wouldn’t mention his favour to brag or make himself look better or hold it against karen. he’s too much of an “old fashioned kind of guy”, he’s got this patriarchal gentleman code when it comes to women. he mentioned she asked for a favour and he did it because he wants her to know whatever he once said about not wanting to up and leave with her isn’t because he doesn’t care. just like offering coffee was a way to offer an apology and “fix” things. he doesn’t spell things out properly, but he knows she hears him.

things would’ve been way different if karen had been a little more pushy and warm with him (like she was with matt🙄)… anyway i hope we see her reaction to frank almost dying.

I need to know if karen and frank talked at all before she called him. because if the first time she contacted him in years is to ask him to save the life of the guy he told her to be with romantically then that adds a whole nother layer. I can see why he continues to try to push her away after that.

so we’re an episode away from the finale and my hopes are underground atp… so i’m just gonna make a recount of those tiny kastle moments that i love.
1. So Karen said “terrible things happen to people and they don’t kill people bc of it” and frank HAD to tell her and convince her that he isn’t… because he needs her approval that bad ig 🙄
2. I just think this frame is so hot and not talked about enough.
3. Frank’s hands shaking at the thought of someone hurting her. I love how this scene is a fundamental pillar to our ship… also his eyes!
4. I’m so glad someone else noticed this because the first time i caught it i screamed. Anyway, this is frank castle grown ass man smiling after seeing karen wants to talk to him.
5. This is also so hot. Both foggy and matt are there and he’s looking at KAREN. Also my girl flinched at the view of him in a suit and i think that is so relatable.

Frank Castle redefined love when he shyly bought an array of white roses, blew his cover in front of all of New York in order to save Karen, literally compared her importance to that of a wife (and family), tenderly kissed her on the cheek after brokenly telling her that he could not allow anything to happen to her, shielded his girl from a stream of bullets with his own battered body, non-verbally walked her through dismantling the bomb she was stuck to, and silently pressed his forehead against hers in order to reassure himself that she made it out of that nightmare alive.
