Hah, bet you thought it was some underverse ship
honestly, I think the only reason I’m not deeply ashamed about sharing this ship, is that when people see it they say either: “Man, I love this” or, “I like them better as friends with a kid, but yknow, either way is chill”
And if you think they are better as friends with a kid, I respect and love you. Honestly, it does annoy me a little when I see two best bros/gals/friends/ in a piece of media, and people just start shipping them, regardless of tension. I’d really just like people to enjoy each other, without just chopping it up to romance.
Anyway, back to the ship. These books were pretty much my childhood. Like, I would get them the day of release at my bookstore. Even so, my tiny, underdeveloped brain thought from the get-go, “Oh, they’re a married couple.” Before I even knew yaoi was. (It was always in there, deep down)
I know that I kind of just sort of maybe debunked the ship myself in that other paragraph, but they have tension. I just finished watching the movie, (It was really good) and I firmly stand by what I say. I prefer them as a very… calm couple. Just two guys, raising a kid, and being an old married couple. Beautiful.
And if you really want a truly solid reason for thinking it’s cannon;
They didn’t have to do this, but they did.
One more thing, this is pretty much slightly akursed fault. I kind of forgot about dog man, until a friend of mine sent me a bunch of dog man fan art by him, and the dog man ship. Theeennnn I kinda connected the dots like, “Oh yeah, they were a couple weren’t they?” (Go check him out! He’s super cool, and a great artist!)
(I couldn’t put in his twitter, or reddit for some reason, but he has one. He also made Rodrick’s secret, the DOAWK fanfic, which is a bomb)
