So some possible reasons why Morty Jr. is in the hospital:

1) He's dying of old age. This is probably the most likely considering how fast his species ages. :(

2) He needs medical treatment. Maybe like an organ translpant or blood transfussion? I feel like him having half-human half-gazorpian dna would make it hard for him to get medical treatment. (Maybe this also becomes a way for Morty to show Morty Jr. more about Gazorpazorp; considering Morty Jr. probably is not very in touch with his gazorpean heritage)

3) Morty Jr. has his own family now and he wants Morty to meet his newborn child.

Was anyone else hoping the post credits scene would show at least a few of Morty Jr.'s children (since apparently there's a LOT of them)?

I know that growth isn't 100% linear, but damn, I wish the writers would decide what they're going to do with Rick's character. He keeps going back and forth between being almost TOO nice and acting like a raging asshole.

Summer mostly feels like she's been set back a few seasons, too. The person with the most consistent character development & growth at this point is Jerry.

Since we still don’t know exactly when Diane was omegaed, it’s possible that Jerry could’ve met her, meaning that her memory could exist in his mind. If that’s the case, Memory Rick could’ve brought her to live with him in the Memory Smith house.

ok so idk how helpful this will actually be because my drawings tend to be more stylized and i'm by no means an expert, but here's a bunch of things to keep in mind when working with a style closer to the show's (or what i kept in mind while trying to replicate it, anyway skshdkd)

also i apologize for the shitty quality of the pictures, my camera sucks

Okay, that WOULD be adorable.

I know it's been a while since I posted any updates about my Rick and Morty fanfic, Down With the Rickness and it's REALLY been a while since I posted one of these current page count pictures. If you're new here or had forgotten, yes, I still handwrite fanfiction in the year 2025. No, that will never change.

Anyway, this isn't just a current page count pic - it's actually the FINAL page count (185, if you're curious), because I finished writing the story yesterday. I still have to type and upload what's going to be the last 1-2 chapters, but yeah. In the original format, it's done.

I have had so much fun working on and posting this fic, and can I be honest? I'm sad it's done. 😭 Like, I know I still have typing and uploading to finish, and of course I'm going to have other projects in this fandom to work on. But I'm legitimately going to miss working on *this* one so much.

@dirty-bear-rick-sanchez , thank you! I mostly edit while writing, but both! For example, some pages have additional dialogue written on the top of the page with an arrow pointing to where it should actually be on the main page (but I forgot or just didn't think of it 'til afterwards). A few have arrows indicating where I was thinking of switching the order of some dialogue when I got to typing it... though I almost always ended up sticking with the original order when I got to that point.

Editing during the typing phase is mostly:

1. I feel like I used the word "said" too many times too close together. Let's fix that. Or...

2. I was going out of my way to not use/overuse "said" on this page, and really doing too much with the substitutions for it. Let's fix THAT. 😅

Also, fixing the occasional "this sentence or paragraph seemed complete & like it made sense when I wrote it on 2 hours of sleep, but it turns out that wasn't the case." Those get the missing/nonsensical dialogue fixed on the physical pages, too.

Someone else pointed out in another post that I can't find right now, Beth has never been phased by Rick’s casual nudity before. I think her issue here is just said nudity on the couch - and maybe Rick being a bad influence on Jerry. 🤣
