A few hours had passed when Prim realized that they hadn’t come across a single tribute again. Clearly, they were sinking deeper into the woods, and further away from the Cornucopia. Looking behind her shoulder, she gave a useless glance around them. Nothing, no one. For some reason, it was bothering her. It was too calm. Too quiet. Too boring for the good people of the Capitol.
It was as if her sudden movement had brought life back into the group. “Did you hear something?” asked Peeta, frowning.
She found herself being still stupidly irritated at him. “No, that’s the problem.”
“Why is that a problem?” asked Rue, “it’s good, right?”
“Yes, it is. I just… I don’t know.”
Peeta seemed to understand her quicker, which made it harder to stay mad at him. He frowned and looked around too. “You think something is going to happen?”
